- GIGuy IncognitoJul 20, 20261.0I went to this location in Peoria off of happy Valley Road. When I pulled in the time was 8:40 PM. They close at 10pm. I had just packed my dogs in my car (which is not easy to do, let me tell you) and drove out of my way (20mins away) to go here because it’s something not fried at night. After trying to place an order for chicken (which is what they’re known for) the young lady proceeded to clumsily offer anything but chicken. I repeated I wanted chicken. She kept getting flustered, and asking how many pieces. I said 6. She said no, it would take 20 mins. I said I would wait. She said no. Thats when I asked her, “Let me guess: You’ve shut down the grill so you could leave at exactly 10pm, didn’t you?” She said yes. Now listen — I can understand not wanting someone to come in 10 mins before close, but 80 minutes!?? In today’s economy and so many looking for work, this is unacceptable. It’s behavior like this that gives these corporate types the incentive to lay people off for AI. I had worked all day outside, on my day off. I am tired, and have dogs I’m having to wrangle into a car, but it beats cooking. So I drove all the way here, after checking the time, for someone to turn me away. Now I get to drive home, and have to cook anyway. Basically I wasted an hour of my time and gas because they got lazy. Get it together or just close at 8 if that’s what you’re going to do. Don’t waste my time and gas.
