I am originally from New Mexico and have been looking for authentic New Mexican food and this place is the best so far that I have tried been in az around 25 years and I would definitely recommend this place.

I give a 3 star because it was good, but unfortunately didn’t love it enough to return. I wanted to love it. My husband was recommended this place by a friend, because me being born and raised in NM, I still crave food from home. New Mexican food is a bit different than traditional Mexican food! First, the outside of the restaurant is misleading, it looks like a dark old hole in the wall type bar next to a smoke shop (when we pulled up we almost left lol), but inside is very clean and put together nicely for the space they have. The service was great! The food was good. My husband got fajitas ($21) but it left him still hungry -he’s an athlete with an appetite- so he finished off my kids $8 chicken tenders - were just like Costco’s food court (meh). I got the small combo platter that I had to pay extra to add protein ($19) the taco was really good. But wow they nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING. $4 small kids drinks, $3 chips, you pay their merchant fee if you pay w a card, the prices of the dishes were a bit more than expected. I like to see small businesses thrive but there’s some things to work on that would make a family want to return.

Enjoyed the way the treat us, as I am very difficult on choices they gave me the time to chose, without being rushed, that in itself is very hard to find a place as willing to give a customer the chance to figure out.my choices yes choices was very hungry that day,

Our family was celebrating our brothers birthday. I called to make reservations and immediately Kathy the owner thanked me for the reservation and said that everything would be set beautifully for us and it was. I’m a New Mexico girl just like the owners and the food hit it out of the park. The red and green chili is authentic and made with love every bite of the 10 plates of food we ordered were outstanding ! The chef is a master ,our server Andrea is an angel and made the most perfect drinks and her service was top notch! This is a family run business and you feel like you’re eating in their home. I have a feeling this will be like some of the fine New Mexican restaurants where there’s a line wrapped around the building and people are standing in it waiting to get in. They were so smart to open a mushroom coffee room. Nextdoor filled with beautiful gifts and a very cool vibe hats off to this family. May you be blessed with good customers every day!!

Disappointing food, terrible service, and they overcharged us on purpose The shrimp wasn't fresh and everything was way too salty. The prices are far higher than what the food deserves. The service was incredibly slow — and unlike every other Mexican restaurant I've been to in other cities, they didn't even offer complimentary chips and salsa while we waited. The worst part came when we asked for the bill. They just gave us a total with no breakdown. I asked for an itemized receipt, and when they finally printed it out, I noticed both entrées were priced higher than what was shown on the menu when we ordered. The owner claimed it included tax — but the receipt already had tax listed separately. When I pointed that out, there was no apology at all. He just said, "It's only two dollars." It's not about two dollars — it's about honesty. This is the first time I've ever experienced a restaurant so blatantly overcharging customers. I honestly wonder if other American diners here just didn't notice? Even at regular places, electronic receipts show clear itemization — the only reason I caught it is because I remembered the menu prices. Otherwise, I never would have known they were quietly padding the bill. How does this place have 4.8 stars on Google? I genuinely don't get it. The food is mediocre and not fresh, the prices don't match the quality, the service is poor, and they openly charge more than the menu says. I won't be coming back, and I'd caution others to double-check their bills if they do.
