I would like to share a very disappointing experience my group had at the Topgolf Glendale location.
We were invited to Topgolf by our finance company, and there were approximately 12 of us in our group. We were there for less than two hours. During that time, our entire group only ordered about two pitchers and a few Long Island Iced Teas. With a group of approximately 12 people, there is no reasonable way to suggest that our group was overly intoxicated, out of control, or behaving disrespectfully.
Our server, Mark, assisted us, but throughout the evening several members of our group felt that we were being treated differently, disrespected, and judged because we are Hispanic. His attitude and the way he interacted with our group made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome.
Despite how we felt we were being treated, we never caused a scene, argued, or disrespected him or any other Topgolf employee. We gave him and the Topgolf staff the same respect we expected to receive as customers, and instead of creating a problem, our entire group simply chose to leave.
What made the experience even more noticeable was the difference in treatment we received from a young female bartender who helped us toward the end of our visit. Unfortunately, I did not get her name, but I would like management to recognize her. She was kind, professional, respectful, and treated our entire team like regular paying customers. Her service showed us exactly how customers should be treated, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or background.
Topgolf serves people from many different cultures and backgrounds, and no customer should ever leave feeling that they were treated differently because of who they are. If an employee is going to work directly with the public, they should be able to serve every type of person with the same professionalism and respect.
We were there as guests of one of our finance companies expecting to enjoy a fun evening with our team. Instead, in less than two hours, we reached the point where we felt uncomfortable enough to leave.
I sincerely hope Topgolf management takes this complaint seriously, reviews what happened, speaks with the employees involved, and makes sure another group does not have the same experience. I would also appreciate someone from management contacting me regarding this situation.

I must say we did enjoy the venue. The food was decent and the services were good. I do have a complaint we live in Arizona being told that we were not allowed to bring our own water (in a tumbler which would have kept or water cold) especially during summer was bothersome. They served us water but the ice melted and it was warm which made us not want to drink it. We are allowed to go into the movies with our tumblers but not allowed to do an outdoor activity with it was crazy. This visit was bitter sweet.

Every year, our preschool brings our students to Topgolf for a special end-of-summer celebration. We always pay for 20 children to play and eat, even if we have fewer students attend. This year, we only had 8 children because many of our preschoolers had already started school, but we still paid for the full reservation of 20.
As our time was coming to an end, I asked our server if we could order donuts for the children as a special treat before we left. She responded by saying, “You all have four minutes, and then you’ll have to leave. It’s your decision if you want them, and your kids can stand over to the side to eat them.” I was honestly taken aback by the response. It felt dismissive and lacked the hospitality we’ve come to expect.
When I spoke with the manager, I explained that we simply wanted the children to have a few extra minutes to sit together and enjoy their donuts before leaving. Instead of acknowledging our concern, he repeatedly suggested that we just take the donuts to go.
After supporting this location year after year, and continuing to pay for the full reservation even with fewer children attending, I left feeling disappointed by how our group was treated. Unfortunately, this experience has made the decision for us, and this will be the last year our preschool holds its annual Topgolf outing here. We truly hoped to continue this tradition, but customer service and the way our children were treated matter just as much as the experience itself.
