I visited this Subway on August 5th around 11:45am, and unfortunately, I will never return to this location.
When I walked in, I was the only customer in the store. The employee was making a single sandwich and told me, "I'll be with you in a moment." I stood there patiently for more than eight minutes without saying anything or complaining while she slowly made that one sandwich, walked back and forth, went into the back, came back came back with a bag of chips, and eventually wrapped the sandwich.
I was in a hurry and needed to be at a meeting. Had I known I would wait nearly ten minutes to even be helped when I was the only customer standing in the store, I would not have stopped. Despite that, I never complained about the wait and remained patient.
When she began making my sandwich, she asked what I wanted on it. I told her I wanted the Subway vinaigrette. She told me that she couldn't put that on yet and that it had to go on at the end. I said okay and continued ordering my sandwich as she instructed.
I asked for spinach, pickles, pepperoncinis, olives, cucumbers, and green peppers, in that order. When I was finished, she started to wrap my sandwich without adding the vinaigrette. I reminded her, "And the vinaigrette?" since she had specifically told me that it needed to be added at the end. She then put it on.
Instead of wrapping my sandwich and checking me out, she told me that the next time I came in, I needed to make my sandwich "from this side to this side" because I had not ordered my sandwich in the correct order.
I told her that I order the same sandwich, the same way, every time I go to Subway—which is quite often—and I have never had anyone tell me that I was ordering it incorrectly or treat me the way she was treating me. I had also asked for the vinaigrette first, and she was the one who told me I could not have it added until the end.
At that point, I told her I needed her to wrap up my sandwich because I was in a hurry and needed to go.
Instead, she continued, saying, "I'm just saying," and then used her gloved hand to lift the peppers off my sandwich and show them to me, saying, "Look at this mess it makes." She told me that I was dressed very nicely and that she didn't want me to get sandwich on my clothes and continued explaining that she was just trying to help me.
I asked her to please stop touching my sandwich and simply wrap it up.
She did not stop.
I asked her four or five times to please stop and wrap my sandwich, but she continued repeatedly explaining that she was "just trying to help."
What bothered me most was not even the initial wait, although standing there for more than eight minutes while one online order was prepared was frustrating. It was the way I was treated afterward. I was patient, I followed her instruction about when the vinaigrette could be added, and then I was criticized for supposedly ordering my sandwich in the wrong order. When I made it clear that I wanted the interaction to end, my repeated requests to stop touching my food and simply wrap it up were ignored.
I go to Subway frequently and have ordered this same sandwich the same way at many different locations. I have never experienced anything like this.
I will not return to this Subway location. I'll go to Eegee's next time.
