Stopped into Brio Italian for dinner tonight and overall had a nice experience. The food was good, but the drinks were the biggest disappointment of the meal.
We started with a Peach Bellini and a Peach Sangria. Unfortunately, both tasted odd—very watery, weak, and lacking much peach flavor. I’d skip the cocktails next time.
For our appetizer, we ordered the Margherita Flatbread. It had a perfectly crispy, thin crust topped with sliced tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil. We added a light sprinkle of salt, and it really brought all the flavors together. Fresh, light, crispy, and a great way to start the meal.
We took advantage of the 2 Can Dine for $50 menu, which was a great value. We both chose Caesar salads to start, then ordered the Crispy Lemon Chicken and the Pasta Brio as our entrées, followed by the Warm Berry Cake for dessert.
The Caesar salad was fresh and flavorful, although next time I’d ask for the dressing on the side because it was swimming in it. The Crispy Lemon Chicken was excellent—crispy on the outside, tender inside, and full of flavor. The Warm Berry Cake was different than expected, with a texture somewhere between a cake doughnut and cornbread. Paired with the berry sauce and vanilla gelato, though, it made for a very enjoyable dessert.
The atmosphere was one of my favorite parts of the evening. It was relaxing, the music stayed at a comfortable volume, and the temperature inside was perfect. You don’t have to shout across the table or compete with giant TVs to enjoy a conversation. At one point, a little bird even flew into the restaurant for a brief visit, which gave everyone a smile.
The restaurant was clean, and the staff were well-groomed and professionally dressed. Even the employees who looked like they had served a bid were neat, presentable, and appropriately dressed. Our server was attentive throughout most of the meal but seemed to disappear toward the end. It wasn’t a major issue, just something we noticed.
Overall, I’d happily return for the food and the relaxing atmosphere. Just next time, I’ll pass on the cocktails and order my Caesar dressing on the side.
