No one in my family had eaten here before, and we were actually pretty excited to try it. We found a good deal through Instacart, ordered several burgers and one order of fries, and decided to have it delivered. Unfortunately, the delivery took over an hour. About 35 minutes after ordering, I became concerned about how long the prepared food might be sitting, so I called the Five Guys location directly. The employee who answered put me on hold to speak with the shift manager, then came back and told me that the manager said all food waiting for delivery is held at food-safe temperatures. From that phone call, it was still roughly another 30 minutes before our order arrived. By the time we received it, the food was cold, soggy, and essentially inedible. The fries in particular did not travel well at all, and what should have been a fun first experience trying Five Guys turned into a very disappointing meal. I understand that Five Guys doesn't control how quickly an Instacart driver delivers an order, so I don't place the entire delivery delay on the restaurant. However, when you're offering food through a delivery service, the condition in which that food ultimately reaches the customer still matters. After waiting more than an hour and receiving cold, soggy food, it was impossible for us to judge what Five Guys is actually supposed to taste like. For a first experience with a restaurant none of us had ever tried before, this was unfortunately a terrible introduction.
