  The Store Director, Russ, has made me feel uncomfortable and singled out during my visits to this store. On multiple occasions, I have asked Russ or Paige for assistance locating products, since I do not shop at this location regularly and only come in when needed. Paige has always been knowledgeable, respectful, and helpful when it comes to customer service. My interactions with Russ, however, have been very different. He often responds to my questions as though he does not understand what I am asking or gives me a blank, dismissive response. What concerns me most is the difference I have observed in how Russ treats customers of different races. I have seen him provide other customers with what appears to be a much higher level of attention and respect, immediately assisting them with their needs, while his interactions with me have felt dismissive and suspicious. I have also noticed employees being asked to follow me around the store, seemingly because Russ suspected that I was going to steal. Despite this, I have continued to pay for my purchases every time I shop there. I understand that stores need to take precautions against theft, but I have personally witnessed people stealing from this location, and it has made me question whether security measures are being applied consistently and fairly. Based on my experiences, I feel that certain customers may be targeted or treated with greater suspicion because of their race, while others may receive different treatment. I believe the store needs to address how customers are being treated and ensure that loss-prevention practices are based on actual behavior rather than assumptions about someone’s race or appearance. Security is important, but customers should not be profiled or made to feel as though they are automatically suspected of stealing because of the way they look. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and looks into the situation.
