  My husband suggested we go here for date night. It definitely was cozy and romantic all while still having a relaxed vibe. The house music was a nice touch tonight. Our server was very attentive without over doing the check in’s and very kind. The drinks came out quickly. Sadly, I have had many margaritas over the last decade and what I got was strawberry juice. I couldn’t taste any alcohol and I had my husband try it and he said it tasted like strawberry jam. For $18 that felt like a waste but I drank it anyways as I typically don’t complain and just view it as a lesson learned and drink water from there. I ordered pork belly and it was so salty and soaked in lime, that it hurt my mouth to eat it. I tried to put it in the tortilla with the avocado dip and it barely took it down a notch. I did say something about my meal because it was my main meal. The meal was comped (which I wasn’t looking for) but I am very grateful for because I then had my side of 4oz steak left as my dinner. The steak was very good. My husband enjoyed his steak as well. He liked the truffle fries and said he would’ve liked them a little crispier but nothing that stopped him from eating them. The waiter did ask if I wanted something else instead but, I got nervous I wouldn’t like the next thing since we had never been so I declined. Overall, I am guessing steak is basically the way to go here. It was a nice environment which made it appealing.

  We were pleasantly surprised with this stop in downtown Chandler. It is tucked into the corner by Black Rock coffee & easily missed + parking is unfortunately sparse. Coming into the establishment from the Phoenix sun is drastically blinding and I’m sure that may be different in the evenings, but it is quite dark with painted dark walls. The music is entirely too loud. We felt we should have been in a night club and holding a conversation was difficult. Once our eyes adjusted it’s a lovely dining room. The drink menu is nice and offers a good variety. The menu, a limited fancy feast of upscale food, but definitely not Tex-Mex style. Alex was our server and while polite, we didn’t have a friendly connection. I asked questions about the creamy corn risotto which she advised me there isn’t risotto in the dish at all - that’s weird - but she came back with the corrected version, which was, of course, there is risotto! I decided I was curious enough to try the risotto & shrimp dish; my husband ordered the poblano enchilada dish. Price point is in the high side. I had a draft beer and husband wanted tea but they don’t serve it which drew him to take a Diet Coke. Brought to the table in a plastic bottle of DC, without a glass of ice… that seemed odd! Fancy food but here is a bottle of DC? Alex perhaps picked up on our surprise and asked if he wanted a glass of ice. Chips & salsa are not complimentary but !wow! The hot sauce they came with was delish!! Our dishes came pretty darn quick and a very nice portion size too. Both dishes were very good. Our water was never refilled (& after the hot sauce, I could’ve used it). Overall, a nice meal with leftovers. Perhaps lowering the music, a touch more server training, & bring the lights up a touch! Enjoy

  Celebrating our anniversary and chose Neil de Agave for an early dinner. Place was empty when we got there… hoping it wasn’t a mistake coming here. They did not disappoint!!! I was going to go with steak frites, Jazmyn our waitress informed us that their Tuesday special was the Tomahawk for 70 bucks!!! Wife stuck with the steak & Frites, daughter kept her steak & lobster I went with the Tomahawk deal…. The steak is sliced & put on the plate with a couple of sauces one a salsa macha & garlic spread with chile tepid flakes. Give u some guac & beans (both pretty good) along with the whole jalapeno and onion chambray. The quartered buttered spicy corn on the cob was delicious. Took half the tomahawk home for a snack later. We had the churros made fresh reminded us of eating churros on the Malecón in Guasave. Really delicious! Definitely will be coming back… for Tuesday specials and other nights as well!!!

  I came to the restaurant for my birthday with a party of 10. I ordered the halibut, as did two other people in our group. When I tasted the fish by itself, without the cream sauce covering the flavor, it tasted old and was clearly not something I felt comfortable eating. Rather than make a scene or potentially ruin everyone else’s meal, I simply left the fish aside and did not eat it. Since I had chosen the restaurant for my birthday celebration, I didn’t want to create an uncomfortable situation for the rest of the group. After the meal, the two other people who ordered the halibut independently mentioned that they also thought the fish tasted off. That was especially disappointing and made me feel that my concerns were justified. I called yesterday specifically to speak with a manager about what happened. I was told that a manager would call me back, but I never received a call. I’m honestly very disappointed, not only with the quality of the food, but also with how the situation was handled afterward. I would have appreciated the opportunity to speak with a manager and have my concerns acknowledged.

  We just finished our first time here and it was phenomenal! I almost rolled my eyes when my husband said it was Mexican flavors. But this place is different. The location is odd between Black Rock and Jersey Mikes, but I was taken aback as soon as we walked through the door. I was not expecting the rich feel of the decor. I immediately forgot where I was as this was a serene atmosphere with low light and rich colors and soft music playing. It created such a great vibe upon entry. We had the ribeye appetizer with the ancho chili salsa and it was beyond perfection. Unfortunately, the server spilled the glass of wine as he was setting it down on the table, BUT, it was an ACCIDENT and they had us move tables. They more than overcompensated us for the “accident” when they comped the glass of wine and gave us a free dessert. The server felt really bad but it was an accident and the restaurant more than made up for the error. Our assigned server was Alex and she was very knowledgeable and informed us upfront about the out of stock wine selections. She was forthcoming about information and gave us her suggestions as she reviewed the menu with us which was incredibly helpful as this was our first visit. She was prompt and very frequently came around to ensure every need was met. They were timely at clearing plates and moving us through appetizers, main courses and dessert. This was a real culinary joy to experience. It really doesn’t compare to much. The flavors were perfectly paired and the side options were unique. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely be returning to explore more of the menu options.
