  Stopped for takeout following a Maps search for 'American BBQ' ~$75 for four sandwiches, slowly appearing in the expo window over the next twenty minutes. The place doesn't seem to operate with any sense of urgency or pride - kids at the counter scrolling and chatting, swearing. Credit where it's due - the food was good - but not good enough that I'll be back at this price and level of service.

  The only way to finish a day of shopping at Merchant Square is lunch at American Way Smokehouse. SO delicious!! The sandwiches, the salads, the cookies & Jace the manager, everything is great! And please don’t forget the potato salad, it’s superb!

  Love American Way Market. Get the same thing every time. Pork sandwich, potato salad, chips and drink. The best ever! Also get several cookies . Service is great and everyone is always friendly and helpful!

  By the pound or plate options. Brisket is good, tender juicy and full of flavor. Turkey is tender- try it with a side or green chili sauce its very good. Kielbasa also good. Salw was middle of the road just ok. Spinach salad tasty with good dressing and candied nuts. Sugar cookie was the best between dark chocolate, and s'more I tried. Definitely get the sugar cookie, crisp with perfect amount of sugar on outside and a hint of doughiness inside with a refreshing splash from the frosting on top. Not cheap not expensive but right in value with quantity and quality. Great atmosphere and friendly staff who are helping and attentive.

  The ribs and brisket are some of the best I've ever had. Good size portions, homemade sauces. I always get the corn chowder. It's nice to see a childhood staple on the menu. The cookies should not be missed either. One Friday or Saturday, there was some simple entertainment with a great voice and a guitar. My son and I frequent this place for good food and hunting for treasures both new and old. Gives me good memories of my childhood. I recommend to all!
