  My party of 3 ordered two 1/2 chicken dinners and a cheeseburger for lunch. The 1/2 chicken dinners were horrible, my chicken was the size of a half pigeon and my sisters was even smaller more like a Cornish game hen. The chicken dinners were $18.00 each. The breast was very dry, I couldn't eat it, the barbecue sauce didn't help with the dryness. My husband's cheeseburger was good even though it was more rare than he ordered. His onion rings were very greasy. I did like the cole slaw.

  The quality of the food has gone down over the years. Used to be our favorite spot but the last few times we’ve gone there were flies flying all around us and landing on our food and the food was just not great. There are so many better, cheaper spots in town, skip this one.

  My experience has been pretty poor. First time here and a last. Service was poor. Had ask for my drink and food order yo be taken then guests seated after me were given my food. As well as another group. The waitress/bartender didnt even realize I had no food until I called her out on it. Servers dont know where food is going. Bartender doesn't seem to want to work. Not sure how this place survives in cave creek with so much compittion in the area. Sorry folks I wish it was better.

  They are celebrating 50 years this year and there are good reasons they are still around. The food was wonderful and great service. We have plans to go back to try the Saturday prime rib sometime. The place however is very dark inside with uncomfortable chairs. Not sure what the smell was coming in but thankfully it was not in the dining area. We can tolerate a little discomfort and be prepared next time because there will be a next time!

  We stopped by for the 50th anniversary celebration so many of their specials were half off. There were no substitutions, but we made do. We had half a chicken that came with french fries and the liver and onions that came with mashed potatoes and gravy. The results were mixed. The half chicken didn’t seem to have a lot of meat. While it was very crispy, there wasn’t much meat to be had. It was a different story with the liver and onions. The liver was fork, tender and delicious and not only came with onions, but two strips of bacon. We really liked the battered french fries and the mashed potatoes were fine. As expected, it was quite busy and our server wasn’t always there when we needed him. But at half off, it’s hard to complain.
