  As someone who prioritizes organic eating, I appreciate that Safeway carries organic produce. It fills a real gap in our community. However, I've experienced inconsistent quality with their organic offerings. For example, I recently purchased peaches that were hard and never ripened properly, and Sunset Flavor Bomb cherry tomatoes that remained in perfect condition for weeks, far longer than I'd expect from fresh organic produce, which makes me question what's actually in them. The in-store pharmacy service announcements create an atmosphere that feels more clinical than welcoming for grocery shopping. The recently added car wash outside also creates significant noise pollution in the parking lot, making the overall shopping experience less pleasant. Because of these issues, I frequently make the drive all the way to Natural Grocers in Chandler where I trust the quality standards more consistently. I'm genuinely looking forward to Sprouts opening in Casa Grande. Some healthy competition will be good for everyone. I'll continue shopping here for convenience and hope to see quality improvements over time.

  They have the best fruit selection and vegetables, and the meat department always has a good variety of meats .

  I left Safeway at about 3:15, and I put two hot macaroni and cheese from the deli on the belt first, and asked the cashier named Justice to bag them separately in tied bags, so they will not dump open in my car. A worker named Cambri helped me with my stuff, and she did not know i wanted those bagged separately. When they were placed into my car, one of the macaroni and cheese opened and fell over into my car. I explained to Cambri that was the reason that I had asked the cashier to bag them separately, both in tied bags individually to keep that from happening. I am wearing an arm brace and recovering from surgery, so I do not have the use of my hand or my fingers, and could not tie the bags myself. Cambri helped me to pick it up and I asked her to mention to the cashier that the macaroni and cheese had dumped into my car because they were not bagged correctly. Justice could have done better.

  I mainly use the pharmacy here. I can say they are great. They went the extra mile for me when I first moved to Arizona! Needed daughters meds and doctor we saw missed the mark on ordering them despite several calls to her office. Safeway pharmacy was able to obtain them from my home state and my daughter didn't have to go without her insulin. Yes you do have to wait sometimes and they close for lunch BUT that's a corproate policy not their choice. Saves money figured that out during COVID. They (corporate) know we aren't going elsewhere cuz we need our meds! The people behind the counter at this location are great, professional, friendly &;helpful. Thanks pharmacy gang!!!
