Having recently moved to the Bullhead City area, my family and I have been visiting local grocery stores to find our go-to shop. After encountering several poorly maintained options in the area, we were thrilled when we first stepped into this Safeway location. The store is exceptionally clean, well-organized, and consistently well-stocked. Based on store presentation alone, we really wanted this to be our primary grocery store, which is why we’ve given it a chance on three separate occasions now. Unfortunately, despite the great physical environment, the level of customer service has been consistently disappointing during every single visit. Across our three trips, asking a clerk for assistance has felt like a major ordeal—staff consistently react as if helping a customer is an unwanted interruption. This evening’s visit was particularly frustrating. We chose to use the only regular checkout lane open. When two staff members walked over to assist, their body language and overall attitude made it blatantly obvious they felt inconvenienced. The demeanor was clear: Why couldn't you just use self-checkout instead of making us do our job? A Message for Store Leadership: I am sharing this detailed feedback in hopes that management finds real value in it to coach and improve team performance. As a management team, you undoubtedly have sales performance, customer retention, and corporate benchmarks to hit. However, customer service directly dictates whether shoppers return. A clean store gets people through the front door, but poor staff engagement ensures they don't come back. Customers choose regular checkout lanes for a reason, and employees should never make shoppers feel guilty or penalized for preferring human interaction over self-checkout. This location has immense potential to be the premier grocery store in Bullhead City due to its cleanliness and organization. However, until management addresses employee culture, customer engagement, and basic hospitality, we—and likely many other shoppers—will be taking our business elsewhere. I hope store leadership takes this opportunity to retrain staff so the service matches the quality of the store itself.

Life time local, and often visit this store. Everything is great except the employees that run the self check out area. It can be very off putting to watch employees joke and laugh out loud in the customer service desk and act like there aren’t multiple help lights flashing for 10-15 mins
