I am writing to share an experience I had at the Waldron Sonic on the morning of June 24, 2026, around 7:00 AM.
I placed an order through the Sonic app and pulled into Stall 9, which is designated for online order pickup. When I attempted to check in through the app, I repeatedly received a message stating, "Technical Error, Try Again Later." After four unsuccessful attempts, I backed out of Stall 9 and moved to Stall 1 so I could contact an employee for assistance.
After pressing the order button, I was told someone would be with me shortly. Approximately eight minutes later, an employee came back on the speaker and asked how she could help. I explained that I was there to pick up an online order and provided my name. She stated that she did not have an order under my name. I then asked if I was at the Waldron Sonic location, and she responded in a noticeably harsh tone that I was checked into Stall 9.
I replied that I was aware I was supposed to be in Stall 9, but before I could explain the issue with the app, I was interrupted and told that Stall 9 was for online orders. I again attempted to explain that the app would not allow me to check in, but I was interrupted a second time and told, in a very stern manner, that my order would be brought out shortly.
When my order was delivered, the employee approached my vehicle and immediately stated, "Stall 9 is for online orders." I calmly explained that I understood that, but because the app repeatedly displayed a technical error message, I moved to Stall 1 in an effort to contact someone for assistance. The employee then responded, "This is not for online orders," rolled her eyes, handed me my order, and once again stated, "Stall 9 is for online orders." She then walked away while mumbling something I could not hear.
While waiting for my order, I also witnessed another interaction that concerned me. A gentleman arrived with a truck and boat attached and was unable to use the standard stalls. He walked to the front door and informed the staff that he had an order. I observed a young male employee inside throw his hands up in what appeared to be frustration before walking outside to speak with the customer. The employee asked for the customer's order information and responded in a manner that came across as irritated and dismissive. After returning inside, I observed several employees laughing and joking about the situation. As a customer, this was disappointing and unprofessional to witness.
I understand that everyone can have difficult days, and I generally try to be understanding. However, the level of disrespect, lack of professionalism, and unwillingness to listen to a customer's explanation was surprising. I was simply trying to resolve an issue caused by the app and obtain assistance. Instead, I was repeatedly interrupted and treated as though I had done something wrong.
I hope this feedback can be used as a coaching opportunity to improve customer service and professionalism at this location. This experience was disappointing, and I sincerely hope future customers are treated with greater courtesy and respect.
Thank you for your time and attention.
