  I had a wonderful lunch today. My friend and I each had the focaccia club and fries and it was delicious. The quality of the food was great! Very good choice in Fayetteville

  Mediocre experience. This will have been our 3rd time at Mockingbird. We have a young child and date nights are a luxury. We picked Mockingbird because it was nearby and we had liked the food in the past. I'm sad to say we will probably not be considering this establishment in the future. Our experience was unfortunate enough for me to take the time to leave a review. Our visit was something akin to "adequate", but without the positive vibe. Our server did get us our meal, but never introduced herself. Nothing was late. She did check in. But was gone before we had finished any sentence. The drinks were pleasant. But for the price we felt that the "market rate" special (premium) price for the beef dish didn't reflect the quality of what we received. If you feel $38 for dry pot roast is acceptable, we humbly disagree. We did not finish this meal. Pretty much the "end of day" tough meat in whatever warmer. This is not what we had experienced in the past. I guess the closing time is 8pm. We didn't look really. Most places don't close that "early" on a weekend. Which is fine. People need to get home to their families. We did feel though we haven't felt that rushed or pressured to "Ok, it's closing time. Get out. We're cleaning now. Here's your bill" in quite some time.

  My date and I decided to try out Mockingbird Kitchen for the first time last weekend for date night. It was already 5:15, but we called for reservations. We were told that we did not need reservations. When we arrived 30 minutes later, we were told there was a 15-20 minute wait. I explained that we had just called for reservations, but the post currently replied that we still had to wait, despite they're being four open tables in a restaurant of about 18 tables. So we decided to sit and wait. Four other parties came and were seated, presumably all with reservations. After 25 minutes passes, I'll let the manager know of my discontent. He did offer to see us as quickly as possible, which is more than the host offered. He was at least courteous about it. If you're going to tell a patron that you do not accept reservations, then accept them for everyone else, you should treat them as if they did have a reservation, in fact.

  Staff is very accommodating. I had the pimento mousse dip as an app, then fried chicken, then buttermilk creme brulee for dessert. Everything was wonderful! I appreciate the from scratch cooking, my server even made me honey mustard for my chicken from scratch. Love it!!
