Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

Taste like Sonic hamburgers with McDonald's fries. Wasn't terrible, just wasn't impressed.

Food was ok. Your normal fast food. The staff was friendly and much more proficient than the other local fast food place and also we got our food just like we ordered it. That's rare with the one with the yellow M and also with less attitude. Our fast food go to.

Whataburger. This review might get me banned from Texas. I first had Whataburger while working in Texas. If you've ever been to Texas, you know they don't treat Whataburger like a fast food restaurant, they treat it like it's the eighth wonder of the world. Mention In-N-Out and watch a Texan's blood pressure jump 30 points. Sorry, y'all. I lived in California for 27 years. In-N-Out is still better. Now let me make it even worse... Davis' Burger is better than BOTH of them. There. I said it. Go ahead and revoke my honorary Texas citizenship that I never had. When Whataburger first opened in Arkansas, I was excited. I pulled in expecting greatness. Instead, I think the employees were filming an episode of The Walking Dead. Nobody moved with any sense of urgency. I was convinced they were raising the cow in the back before making my burger. It was right after COVID, so I'll cut them some slack. This location, though? Completely different story. I've probably eaten here about ten times. Not because I crave Whataburger, but because they're open 24 hours. Let's be honest, after midnight, you're not making good life decisions anyway. You're choosing between: Whataburger, Taco Bell or a questionable gas station hot dog that's been spinning since the Obama administration. Taco Bell isn't food, it's a social experiment. You don't "eat" Taco Bell, you borrow it. About 20 minutes later, your stomach sends an Amber Alert, your soul leaves your body, and you're sprinting to the bathroom like you just stole something. Meanwhile, Whataburger is over here saying, "Hey buddy, how about a burger instead of a medical emergency?" The burgers are good. The fries are hot. But the real reason I keep coming back is the crew. They're friendly, my order is always right, and they actually seem like they enjoy their jobs. That's about as rare as seeing someone use a BMW turn signal or finding a McDonald's ice cream machine that's actually working. Would I still choose In-N-Out if it were next door? Absolutely. Would I pick Davis' Burger over both without thinking twice? Every. Single. Time. But when it's 2:00 a.m., your refrigerator contains nothing but ketchup packets, expired ranch, and regrets. Whataburger is the dependable friend that answers the phone. Taco Bell may disagree with this review... but at least I'm writing it from my couch instead of conducting emergency negotiations with the porcelain throne after Taco Bell.
