I ordered the hamburger steak and gravy with mashed potatoes and okra. It took 45 minutes for just the hamburger patty to get to me and it was cold and no sides. The last 3 times going there has gotten worse each time. It use to be my favorite place, but over the past year it has declined in almost every way. I miss the GOOD food and GOOD staff. I guess nothing lasts forever. Good bys Time To Eat RIP

This is a great little place to stop for country cooking. The walls are covered with all kinds of clocks. It's right outside of Mobile, and our family stops there whenever we are in the area when traveling through.

I stopped into **Time to Eat** and it definitely lives up to its name with a fun, clock-themed interior. The walls are packed (bordering on cluttered) with all kinds of clocks. Some are genuinely unique and cool, while others look like they came straight from the Walmart clearance aisle or even the dollar store. Still, the theme fits the restaurant name perfectly, and I wouldn't be surprised if each clock has its own story. The staff welcomed me warmly and let me know there are two non-smoking rooms and one smoking room. I was surprised — I honestly can’t remember the last time I saw a restaurant with a designated smoking section. That said, I sat in the middle non-smoking section right next to the smoking room and never caught even a single whiff of smoke the entire visit. Very impressive. I ordered coffee and water with light ice (my glass came pretty full of ice, but that’s a very minor nitpick). The food came out quickly and exactly as ordered. I went with the **Paul Bunyan** featuring the local Conecuh sausage: - Over-easy eggs: delicious - Cheesy grits: excellent - Conecuh sausage: tasty with a nice spicy kick - “Short stack” of two giant, super fluffy pancakes — these are massive and could easily be a meal on their own - Biscuit with house-made gravy — very good, though I personally would have preferred the biscuit served split open on a plate instead of closed in a bowl (again, small preference) Overall the food was very solid. Everything tasted fresh and hit the spot. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was in high spirits, working together smoothly with obvious camaraderie. You can tell it’s a good team. **Verdict:** Solid Southern breakfast spot with character, generous portions, and friendly service. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.
