Very Bland! Very low quality. No effort in the kitchen at all. I thought it was a joke when our plates came. Chicken shawarma plate was boiled chicken and French fries! No lie. My wife got a vegetarian dish and switched the protein for potatoes. The potatoes were French fries mixed with veggies. Staff was great. But I wouldn’t eat there if it was free.

Food was average other than the Pita Bread. The service was good but we charged for substitutions that weren’t listed on the menu or told by the server. It wasn’t bad but I probably won’t be back based on this experience.

This restaurant is excellent and in a convenient location! The food is unique to this area and very good, the staff are even better! I ordered beef ghallaba with rice and salad. It’s a little pricey but I had plenty of leftovers. The dinner also came with fresh bread and spiced butter… The restaurant was warm inside but I got my food to go. Highly recommend!!

The service was wonderful, and our server truly cared about making our meal exceptional. Unfortunately, the kitchen fell short of that standard. We want this restaurant to succeed and be truly good, and we fully understand the difficult dilemma of rising provision costs. However, several details missed the mark during our visit: The Soup & Tea: The lentil soup tasted old and over-rehearsed from being reheated too many times, and the iced tea felt tired and in need of fresh brewing. The Portions: The portion sizes were incredibly diminished. We ordered two kabobs (one beef, one lamb), and the total amount of meat wouldn't have filled a small hand. The Toum & Pita: The toum tasted as though it had just been whipped up when we arrived; it was sharp with freshly grated garlic but lacked the necessary emulsification of lemon juice and olive oil. We also missed the traditional touch of having the pita lightly grilled with a brush of olive oil. WE WILL RETURN!!

I've enjoyed Al Shish for quite a while and have recommended it to friends, so this review is disappointing to write. Our previous visit in January 2026 was excellent, which made tonight's experience surprising. Our server, Kait, was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The chef replaced our falafel without hesitation after we mentioned the first batch was extremely hard, and the replacement was much better. Unfortunately, the food itself was not up to the standard we've come to expect. The lamb kafta was dry on the outside but still pink in the center. The lentil soup had an unusual chemical/solvent-like taste that made it difficult to eat and we received the lemon-chicken instead- it was quite good. The first falafel order was so hard it was impossible to cut. I want to emphasize that this felt like a kitchen quality issue rather than a service issue. The staff was courteous, but the execution of several dishes was disappointing. I sincerely hope this was just an off night because Al Shish has been one of our favorite Mediterranean restaurants in the area. We'd like to see it return to the quality that made us regular customers.
