  Me and my wife was searching for a good soul food restaurant/ Cafe was near, after doing my search, the first popped up was Jake's Soulfood/ Cafe, so we went,excellent choice, very satisfied with service, atmosphere,and the generosity that we received while we were their. Will definitely continue to be apart of eating their, and sharing with others about Jake's.

  I hate that you all are closing. I came in today for a pickup order placed at 2:52, promised time was 3:07. I come straight to the counter to the left, stand there for a while. Finally young guy with locs asks how can he help me, and I tell him I had a pickup order and gave him my name. Without even looking on the pickup rack with 4 orders already there, he says, its not ready yet. So I stand there, and everyone is passing the counter busy doing nothing. Eventually a women asks if I needed anything, told her I had a pickup order and gave her my name, she goes straight to the pickup and gives me my order which had already been sitting there when I walked in. I was pissed. Good luck on your next venture!

  I visit frequently and the last couple of times I’ve been I seen. Man that works there outside smoking weed it’s not a good look for the restaurant.

  I came down South for work, and this place truly delivered. When I think of Southern food, I expect bold seasoning and that homemade feel—and their soul food/Jamaican fusion hits the mark completely. I had the jerk chicken, cabbage, sweet potatoes, and cornbread. Everything tasted amazing, but the sweet potatoes were the absolute star of the show. Honestly, if I owned this place, I’d take that sweet potato recipe and make pies with it—it’s that good. The cornbread was a tiny bit dry and could use a little butter or a honey drizzle, but overall, this spot is an easy 5 stars. Highly recommended

  We spent our date night at Jake’s last night. The food was delicious, but the portions were small. We ordered the oxtails and the combo dinner with a pork chop & wings. The oxtails were tasty but too small. I had one small pork chop smothered in gravy- (it was delicious) and 2 jerk wings which were pretty good as well. The service was not good at all- we had to ask for water and silverware multiple times- even after our food arrived we still had to get up twice for help to get silverware and water. It took longer than usual to receive our food, and the couple that ordered after us took significantly longer. We have been here before- but last night’s dining experience was not pleasant as before.
