Absolutely 5-star soul food. 10/10 highly recommend. The ribs were smoked to perfection with a great bark, and the fried okra was crispy and seasoned just right. You can tell the collard greens and mac & cheese are the real deal and tastes just like home. Definitely coming back for more, plus that "Scruggs-sized" sweet tea is winning.

Yes — Scruggs BBQ is absolutely a “5-star type” BBQ experience for many customers, especially for brisket and ribs. It’s one of the most recommended BBQ spots in Decatur alongside Smokey C’s.

I ordered a small pulled pork sandwich and a small side of macaroni and cheese and I asked if they had sweet barbecue sauce and spicy barbecue sauce because most places have both and I like to mix them but the young woman looked at me and literally just said "barbecue sauce" with a questioning tone as if she never heard of anything more specific than that and then I asked if they had hot sauce separately and she said they didn't but that they did have spicy barbecue sauce but I would have to pay for it. $.50 or a dollar and I said a dollar cause I like sauce and I like spicy. After I ordered I thought about sitting down but there was too much religious signage for my taste but the wait was fine initially, especially considering that they had clearly just started coming down from a rush but I got to my car and there was no hot sauce or spicy barbecue sauce so I went back in and told a different employee that I didn't get the hot sauce that I paid for and she told me all they had was packets and that they were free and instead of pointing out that that's what I would've gotten to begin with if the other employee didn't tell me they didn't have any, I just corrected myself and said "spicy barbecue sauce" and I'm not sure if I said that it was a dollar or that it was large but I was given two options and I asked for the larger one and then I waited at least as long as I waited for my food which was also supposed to include the spicy barbecue sauce to begin with and then a new employee asked me what I was waiting for and I told her and then I waited another five minutes before she came out to confirm that I had paid for it and then at least another five minutes before she brought it out to me and I will double check when I get home but I'm pretty sure it says 16 ounces on the bottom of the container and I'm not complaining about that exact part because I will use it but I eat a lot of spicy food and very rarely complain but I could only spread a very thin amount on the bun partially because it was paste and not sauce and then I couldn't eat it because I wanted sauce. I pulled over at a random gas station and got random sauce and after two bites the sandwich fell apart and I managed to not make a mess but I obviously can't eat it again until I get home and I would've waited until I got home to begin with if I didn't want something sooner and for the record, it fell apart because it's a lot of barbecue and I'm not complaining about that either but I can't say the same thing about the macaroni and the hassle wasn't worth any of it. I definitely will not be back which sucks especially because I was looking forward to it.
