  Amazing Indian Food and a Wonderful Dining Experience! Bay Leaf Modern Indian Cuisine & Bar is one of the best places to enjoy Indian food in Birmingham! The food is absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a wonderful place to enjoy a meal with family and friends. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the overall dining experience is excellent. Whether you're already a fan of Indian food or trying it for the first time, Bay Leaf is definitely worth visiting. Highly recommended!

  I came here with my family over the weekend, and the food was SO delicious that many of us unintentionally ate past the point of full. Our server was quite nice, and the atmosphere is wonderful!

  We’ve been here 3 times in the past, and every time they’ve been consistent and decent Indian food. But our recent visit, was just appalling. There was a stink when we enetered the place. Seems like they’d turned off the HVaC. My 6yo immediately was repelled by the smell. Additionally, with almost the entire restaurant nearly empty, I don’t see why we had to be directed to the back tables near the restrooms. Funny as it may sound, but I couldn’t help but speculate that the server was operating on instruction to send Indian diners to the back of the restaurant away from the windows facing the street. Only on further insisting, were we given a table at the front of the restaurant. Now comes the most important thing, the food. It was of terrible quality. This has been my biggest beef about Indian restaurants and what get me riled up the most. We ordered the chicken 65, the drums of heaven and the malai kofta and the naan. All of them stale, and you can tell was just reheated and brought to serve. The kofta was terrible! The naan was rock hard after it cooled down. It takes a lot for me to write a bad review. And these people checked all the boxes to prompt me to take this step and spend 5 mins of my time.

  One of the best dosas in the country! I've been all over the United States and had lots of dosas in my life but the dosa here at Bayleaf was really exceptional. The texture was perfect and crispy. The fermentation level tasted amazing and the lentil sambar was on point. Would really recommend if you've never had a dosa before. What an incredible restaurant to have in Birmingham. Also vegan too :)
