Today I "clipped" coupons digitally for two items only to find out at the cash register that the savings was only for drive up customers and not for the customers that take the time to actually come in ? Makes no sense. My cashier was Lisa Correa (manager) and was rude about this also. Suggest having a little patience with seniors trying navigate the "digital" savings and also offer the same savings for customers walking into the store !

I have shopped Carrs/Safeway for 60 years. I love shopping in the store and visiting with some of the employees weekly. And the flowers!!! Sadly, now I avoid Safeway if I can get it at SaveUMore or Coles. BUT~~case in point. Last week when we got 6 inches of new snow. I bought 4 bags of groceries on Friday. I have to trudge thru the snow 'one bag at a time' with a slick paper bag, NO HANDLES and one ripped with a carton of milk. I had to come in the house and get a Save U More yellow bag and re-bag my groceries scattered in the snow. And now we have treacherous Ice! We 'seniors' would happily pay !0 cents more for a clean, sensible recyclable plastic bag (like Save U More) or even a paper bag 'with handles'. (Like Ulmers) In conclusion, I'm 91 years old, in good health, I walk in the Sparrc every day. Lots of retired senior citizens in Homer!! Yesterday I counted 6 Yellow SaveUMore plastic, useful, recyclable bags ~~folks carrying their walking shoes. I implore Safeway to offer an alternative to those cumbersome, wasteful paper bags.
