  The usual Safeway store, pharmacy, and Starbucks. Deli pretty empty, shelves had been hit pretty hard through the day. Busy store!

  Store is nice enough, I think it’s the only store in Homer. But there is a cashier there named Kristen that is the rudest person I have met. A mom with a small child was in Oaken Keg and the mother let the child carry some alcohol. Ok. Maybe not the right thing to do and maybe against the law I don’t know but Kristen went in the loudly yell at the lady and embarrass her in front of the entire store and then refused to sell to her. Then we had the unfortunate opportunity to have her as our cashier and she was rude and ugly to me as well. She said she was tired and had been working since noon. It was a little past 8 when we were there.

  The worst grocery store I’ve been in for over 40 yrs! Limited items and options and VERY EXPENSIVE. Focus s on already prepared items. ie: chili in a can, cup of noodles etc. Meat options are also extremely limited. Terrible! Get your groceries in Soldotna!

  Worst Safeway store ever! Shelves are barely stocked. Ice cream is half melted because they can't get their freezers at the right temperature. And then being told with their high prices that I have to check out my own groceries and they refused to check out my groceries, that is some BS. I just spent over $150.00 and nobody can bag my groceries. Every other store I've been to someone will bag your groceries if you do not want to do self checkout. If I didn't have my niece there with me expecting ice cream that I promised I would have left my full cart there and walked out. For years they've been saying oh we can't hire anyone no one wants to work. How about you offer a wage that's decent so people actually want to work here. Your high prices, poor quality produce, and lack of stock (half empty shelves) you should be checking out my groceries I shouldn't have to check out my own stuff unless you give me a discount or you pay me for doing your job. Horrible customer service! If you're going to visit Homer buy your groceries at Fred Meyer in Soldotna, go down the street to Save-U-More, or go out East End Road to Cole's Market. They won't force you to check out and bag your own groceries. They have people that actually want to work for them.
