My wife and I went here at 10pm. There was a massive line. But we waited the whole time. We finally got to the microphone to order and they told us they were not taking any more orders. That was infuriating for us because we had just waited 30 almost 40 minutes for them to just tell us no. I understand they close at 10.30 but it is not my fault they take forever to complete orders. They said the reason they couldn't give us food was because they were cleaning the machines and they were short staffed. But the thing that frustrated me the most was the fact they didn't tell us until we had wasted 30 minutes.

One star because I have no other choice. -10/10 experience.
The individual manning the front counter was repeatedly leaving the building through the back door and going to sit with a woman and her dog in a gold car. My daughters kids meal came with chocolate milk, which I did not receive, and when I went to ask for it, the staff member was walking back and forth on the phone in the supply storage area of the store, walked to the front, looked me directly in the eye, then turned and walked to the back of the restaurant without acknowledging me at all.
Grill staff and drive thru/ice cream staff were super helpful and kind, but could not break away from their stations, understandably.
Grill staff were calling out orders rather than the employee who was manning the front counter, due to his disappearances, so all of our food was cold by the time we got it.
When leaving, so many people walked out after waiting 10 minutes for someone to come take their order, including a large group of 6, and a grill staff had to go outside to get the employee out of the gold car and come back inside to work the front counter.
The soda fountain beverages tasted like mold, the ice machine lever was disconnected from the machine, and there was no ice in the machine when I figured out how to use it without the lever. I intended to buy ice cream after we finished our meal, but due to the overall experience, I decided against this.
I left the restaurant without the ice cream I paid for with my daughter’s meal and took my kids to tastee freez instead.
The restrooms were locked, I had no access to napkins for our meal, and didn’t even attempt to ask the staff for any due to their limited availability after the chocolate milk incident. Bathrooms were completely locked and inaccessible. The booths near the restrooms were falling completely apart. One was completely collapsed, while others were lifted from the back by at least 6 inches, and had visible nails where the seats were lifted away from the frame.
We do not frequent this establishment, but after our visit, we will not be visiting this location ever again.
Between cleanliness, safety concerns, and customer services challenges, this location is hands down the worst fast food experience I have ever had.
This location needs attention immediately.
Google Reviews needs to invent ZERO STARS!!
Arrived at 9:07 & pulled in the drive-thru behind 2 cars that never moved so we backed out to go inside.
We approached the door along side an Uber Eats guy & the doors were locked. They are suppose to close at 10:30PM.
He said that happens all the time - he took a picture to send to Uber Eats and left.
We went to Baskin Robins. When I was pulling out of the parking lot I called & they didn't answer. It was after hours, but I called corporate which had a recording with no way to leave a message. But it said if you have a complaint call the restaurant because they are independently owned.
So, Dairy Queen Corporate doesn't care that they have a location that closes whenever they want. And whoever owns this location sucks.
Nice job!
Update: You can see the reply below & to that I say all of the information you need is right here in the review. And posting a reply that makes it appear that you give a damn after the fact is just a PR move - I'm not jumping through hoops to be anyone's customer - you had a chance & blew it! If you do give a damn you should reach out to the store & have them DISPROVE ny statement that they locked the doors early & if they can't, take it from there. After all it is your name & reputation on the line, independently owned or not! I personally will never attempt to go to that location again when Baskin Robbins is literally down the road, opened & providing great service! Do better!!

Seems like all Dairy Queen‘s these days take forever, except for the one on the Kenai Peninsula. Also, the food can be inconsistent at the Wasilla location. I ordered an item and they did not make it properly, even though I asked for it correctly, and then they are unsure of the ratios for said item, as I could literally hear one of the team members asking a coworker, how much ice cream to add to it. So now I’m a little. “gun-shy” when it comes to ordering as I need to remember to taste test it before I leave in case it needs to be remade so be aware of that. Otherwise the food especially the treats are amazing. You just might be waiting a while.
Heavily understaffed, staff don't act as if they want to even be there & don't feel welcoming at all. Orders take forever as a result, & you'll get deadpan stares from either a high schooler who could care less, or an older adult who looks so stressed out that they're looking right through you. The Blizzards, which is what I primarily go here for, are what you would expect in taste/flavor, however, the staff often forget to lid them, & they place them on the counter to simply melt while preparing the rest of the order (I forfeited a Lemonade Cooler due to this, as I didn't have time to wait around for them to redo the blizzards, which was for my fiancée who had just given birth).
The drive through is extremely slow, much slower than even the lobby; I've waited 20 minutes in the lobby & noticed the drive through line barely budge. But when it's not busy, not too bad. The drive through is also a bit narrow, & in the winter it is not properly maintained.
Parking is usually good, though there are a few pools of water near the parking spaces near the entrance.
The interior is clean upon first glance, but closer inspection reveals that most cleaning is surface level (expect sticky tables & floors).
The pricing is alright, a bit expensive for the experience you get in my opinion, but this location receives repeat business often enough so my criticisms might not be everyone's experiences.
Update: Reading other reviews leads me to believe that the owner does not care to improve the experience, as each response appears to be inattentive & copied responses of other reviews. Will likely never go here unless it looks barren, not worth the disappointment time & time again. But oh boy, I do like the blizzards enough to return once in a blue moon.
