Unfortunately, after new ownership has decided to change the entire menu, the food is terrible. I understand they are trying to go to a cleaner menu with less ingredients, and I can respect healthier food choices. But, that’s not why I go out to eat. They have lost my business until the food goes back to the way it was, and that’s also the opinion of many I’ve talked to. As a local business owner myself, who says let’s take a successful franchise and change the one thing you’re known for?

I decided to take the family out to try something new and everyone was craving Mexican food, so we chose On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina. When we arrived around 4 p.m. on a Friday, we were greeted promptly and seated right away, which was a great start. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive momentum paused.
We were seated in a booth right next to the kitchen exit, so there was constant staff traffic going in and out. Despite that, we sat for about 10 minutes without being acknowledged. The hostess was kind enough to bring us chips and salsa, which we appreciated. After another few minutes, I asked a passing server to check on who had our table. When no one came, my wife eventually got up to speak with the hostess again. At around the 20-minute mark, I let another employee know that if we didn’t get drinks or place our order soon, we would be leaving.
Shortly after, a server came over and apologized, explaining that the assigned server for that section hadn’t arrived yet. That was frustrating—especially since we had already been seated there.
Once we were finally taken care of, things improved. The food was excellent, especially the steak fajitas, which were absolutely delicious and the highlight of the meal. Service became better once we had someone assigned, and we were able to enjoy the rest of our dinner. Overall, it was a mixed experience. The food may bring us back… maybe.

We've been going here for 15 years as it (was) our favorite Mexican place in town. It's under new ownership. Salsa is warm and roasted but way more watery and not nearly as flavorful as before. Chips were nice and crispy but over salted. Margarita wasnt as good as before either. The southwest chicken tacos are so different they don't deserve to bear the same name. No more crispy onions, wet sautéed ones instead. Chicken wasnt as good either. If your going to change the menu items, change the names as well. Doing otherwise just invites disappointment. I get it OTB went bankrupt and yall are trying to fix it and be profitable but doing it this way ain't it. Anyone else know of a good Mexican place in town?

So, we order two gallon margaritas and a fajita family meal (it’s that type of Friday lol). Kayleigh was super sweet, attentive — a five star employee. While the to go margaritas are definitely worth the $ (highly recommend for all) I must say that we were disappointed to learned the fajitas doesn’t come with the peppers & just onions. Mind you , the difference between a fajita and tacos are the peppers lol. So I call the restaurant to voice my concern, mentioning that the fajita meal didn’t even offer a choice to add the peppers that they discontinued in the last few months. We spent nearly $200 for the whole transaction. Kayleigh handled it with the upmost customer service and got our problem resolved to our satisfaction. This is the type of service expected from restaurants and employees. As a returning customer I am happy. Kayleigh deserves a raise. Thank you! 🤍
