I had one of the best grocery and butcher experiences I’ve ever had at this Randalls, specifically at the butcher counter. I called ahead before making the 30-minute drive to check on inventory (eggs & chicken breast). The person I spoke to over the phone was super kind and patient, letting me know that there was plenty of chicken in stock and that if I arrived within the next hour, eggs should still be good. When I came in, Alex M (I think he might have also been the person on the phone) was just as helpful! I placed my usual order of 10 lbs of chicken breast plus thighs and he was happy to help and made the whole process easy. What also really impressed me was the butchering quality and prep I noticed when I was unbagging it when I got home. Hands down better than other Randalls locations I’ve been to. There was no extra skin or fat tossed into the bags, and even if there were a couple pieces of fat left in the tray, he didn’t throw them in “just because.” Everything was clean and relatively well-trimmed. After helping me at the counter, he was stocking the packaged meat section and noticed I’d been there for quite a while roaming around deciding what I wanted to get. He checked in again to see if I needed anything else, and he ended up recommending the tri-tip that was on sale that day. He even gave me great ideas for how to prep and cook it. Overall service was outstanding from start to finish. I will 1000% make the 30-minute drive again just for the service and butcher prep quality here. Huge shoutout to Alex M!

This is a rare island in a sea of impersonal and obligatory interaction. Most grocery stores post COVID have completely lost any customer forward initiatives, now in favor of a more "customers are a burden", philosophy. It's pretty infuriating when these are the businesses taking the majority of our inflated economic allotments under the guise of tariffs, inflation and bird flu. Where these excuses are sometimes true, they aren't not the rule yet are being treated as such. Not at this Randalls! They are one of the few standing and run great sales, have an extensive clearance section and have membership perks it's imperative you check out with. Philip is the BEST. He knows everything and is super convivial... doesn't mind helping with whatever you need. Check em out!

One of the cleanest grocery stores I have visited. Their vegetable section is massive with alot of organic vegetables as well. The only thing I didnt see was a variety of different meats. Also a transit stop is nearby which makes it a more convenient location.

Pretty much the only place to get true cured salami in Austin. Everywhere else sells you uncured salami, or salami that has been cured with the nitrates that are contained in celery, which invariably means the meat is spoiled and has the taste of being metabolized by bacteria, because it has been. This is an off-putting ammonia smell, but since people seem to think that nitrates are bad for you, they're more interested in eating spoiled food. Randalls has a great option in Primo Taglio salami. At only $8.99 per pound it's a steal, and outperform significantly on quality. This stuff is mind-bendingly good, especially if sliced thin, like the nice guy behind the counter is happy to do. We go out of our way and come from Dripping Springs to this Randall specifically to get actual traditional cured salami. No HEB in town sells cured meats any longer.
