  Let me start off by saying the menu in the restaurant is somewhat different than their website. Went for their fried chicken, but that is no longer on the menu. Ended up with the regular fried catfish. It was delicious. Having never had turnip greens before, I got a sample. I am a convert a loved it. It's a big meal with 2 veggies so I took some home. If your a Senior, get their Senior plate with 1 veggie. The cornbread needs some loving. Enjoyed my visit and will be back to try something else. Small space if they get busy but they have outdoor seating.

  I will not visit this restaurant again. I placed an online order on yesterday evening. When I went to pick it up I was told it was picked up already by a man and that I have a unique name, so the front house lady supposedly remember him saying my name.That was a lie and impossible, my husband works an hour away and I work 10 minutes away from the restaurant. We both got off at 5pm. I placed the order 30 minutes before I got off work. I called my husband to see if he left work early, and he said no, nor did he pick up the food. The front house lady and the cook insinuated that we were getting double meals because the order was remade. It was egregious, embarrasing and demeaning! There were other customers in the restaurant who witnessed the scene. I felt as if we were being called liars and thieves! They said that they can look at the cameras to see who picked it up, and when I asked them did they look, the cook said she would look later that night. Why not look while I was there to prove my husband did not pick up the food. A simple apology for mistakenly giving our food away would have sufficed. The food was very good! But, again I will never go back for the way I was treated as a first time customer!

  We had a party of 9 and they did not hesitant to accommodate and welcome us! Every single person in our group loved their food! That is rare. Someone usually complains about something with a group that large but not this time! Days later we are still thinking about and craving the food. Most of us had the catfish, my daughter had the meatloaf and a couple of us had the large chicken wings. Sides included mashed potatoes, collard greens, green beans, black eyed peas, homestyle fries, sweet potatoes and mac n cheese. It was all so tasty and you can tell, intentionally prepared. The banana cheesecake, chef’s kiss! What a blessing to the residents of Waxahachie and the people passing through that happen upon this hidden gem. The staff were so friendly and attentive! Do not miss out on this experience if you are ever in the area.

  It was my first time going here and the food was great. Customer service was great. I look forward to going back again. We tried some of everything. The meatloaf, the turkey and dressing, the oxtails, fried Chicken basket, bake chicken, the cheese cakes I think pecan something cheesecake, banana pudding, and macadamia mmmmm good. Thank you for a test first experience.

  Had a late afternoon lunch and ordered the fried spicy-catfish, collard greens, mac and cheese. It was two thick well-seasoned filets, cooked perfectly. The greens, mac and cheese, and hot water cornbread all were amazing. I will definitely be back.
