Wow I am very impressed with the absolutely amazing customer service provided by a gentleman who was working the self-checkout he was working the self-checkout while I had a few questions and he immediately came over answer my questions exactly how I needed and displayed exceptional communication skills it was Stellar customer service experience good products good customer service and very fast service.
So I did look up the pay for his position because I was curious he said he worked there for about 4 years and I've realized it's somewhere around $20 an hour. I hope corporate can read this and understand that the customer service is one of the most important things in any business and for somebody to be displaying such a professional attitude but only receiving $20 an hour is amazing.
It's people like Troy who make me want to shop at HEB I'm so tired of the foreigners at Walmart who don't speak English which inhibits their ability to provide customer service. Thank you thanks to Troy I will definitely be coming to H-E-B more often and this location in particular thank you Troy
Corporate please recognize Troy for his hard work just take a look at how he works throughout the day and how he treats the customers please notice how hard he is working for he's such a small amount of money. I have a feeling that there's a lot more negative reinforcement going on just in the world but positive reinforcement every once in awhile can go a hell of a long way.
I'm also going to follow up calling the number on the receipt to leave my thoughts and I'll try following up with Troy and corporate in a few weeks to find out how the corporate has recognized his hard work.
Also navigate to the super big H-E-B store is quite difficult try to make a little easier so customers don't have to run around the whole store I mean we know you want us to see every single product but sometimes you just want to get milk and it takes an hour
By the way never use the Coinstar machine they take 15% insert all spare change into the self-checkout at HEB
Today 04/21/26 7:30pm-ish there was a manager who I've asked for help..approx 50+ yo, bald on the top, was wearing a green HEB shirt (rather snug). He's always very rude and the first time (many months ago) he didn't want to give me a raincheck. I just thought this person was having 'one of those days' and it wasn't personal. Today, I smiled and said "hello" and asked for help again. He didn't speak nor smile but said "I'll get someone who can help you." We were right where the item was that I was looking for, I'm sure being the manager he knew where it was or it would have been quicker to help me himself. Honestly, he did call someone else (Lendix) who was very kind and awesome but the manager seemed like the type that does his job but isn't happy about it. Or maybe he like to get others to do a job that he's above?
I did not catch his name but next time I will and update this review. This is becoming a recurring vibe at this HEB with the a couple of the managers, (literally 2 or 3 of them). It's like they get these positions and think that their days of being human & kind to customers are over and done with. Not sure if this is the new standard but whatever pep-talk they give to the cashiers and stockers to keep them pleasant, they should circle back and remind those in higher positions to continue to do the same.
Also, this is my usual store so I want to thank those who are always helpful and kind like Sam in the deli, Greg in seafood, Marco in pharmacy, all the customer service staff (especially the red-headed, soft-spoken young woman). And everyone on the aisle whose name I have not been lucky enough to learn but they are always busy yet nice. There also was a young lady that bagged my groceries a few weeks ago who was very pleasant and I'm kicking myself for forgetting her name. These people are truly the ones that HEB a joy to shop at. I would truly say that outside of a couple of managers, 97% of the cashiers and stockers are kind and very pleasant to deal with. Usually always. I wish this was the case for those supervising them. And I can only imagine if I get attitude from them in the 15 mins that I'm in and out of the store, how are the managers treating their so-called 'subordinates' who obviously are the backbone of the store? If the cashiers and stockers ever had to speak up for themselves against a manager, please believe them. And don't do that weird retaliation tactic of icing them out or making it uncomfortable to work there. Please remember that just because a person is a manager or supervisor, they too can be very difficult individuals and they can and have been rude at least to a customer (me)on occasions, so why not an employee?? I would hate for the spirits of the nice employees to ever change because they have to deal with horrible bosses.
But thank you HEB for listening.

I love HEB .. but there’s too many people packed into this one small HEB. It feels like a fire hazard sometimes. You’re elbow to elbow with people trying to walk around pallets and employees stocking shelves. They’re stocking during the day which just makes it harder with how crowded it already is. There’s never anywhere to park, and only three checkout stations open for this huge volume of customers. This store is entirely way too small for the amount of people who shop here. They really need to renovate or expand this location.

Visited and asked the nice young bagger for a carry-out to my car. He said he needed manager Seth’s permission first, something I’ve never heard before. Other baggers help no problem. He couldn’t find Seth, so he helped anyway but seemed worried, saying Seth told him directly: no carry-outs, returns, or damages without approval. He even mentioned a coworker was instructed not to help him with those. Felt unfair, like Seth’s singling him out. Dude was polite and went above & beyond. Props to him. But this kinda rule hurts service. Hope H-E-B checks it so everyone gets treated right.
I just wanted to let the people know that the pharmacy staff (specially evening staff), is the worst. I recommend customers going the extra mile to CVS or even Walmart. they are rude and talk to me like I was little. Not friendly at all, and not even waiting to seem like they care to help. Just beware…
