We live in the general area and have been trying out all the new eateries opening here of which Portillo’s Tomball is one. I had no idea what to expect but leading with hotdogs intrigued me. There was plenty of parking, but it is a little strange getting into the correct parking lot depending on the direction you are arriving from. Keep at it, there’s plenty of spaces once you sort it out. The vibe struck me as diner feel. Lots of eye-candy to take in the spacious layout while you wait for your order. You essentially walk to counter, order, get your drinks, and claim a table to wait for your name to be called. It was clean and pleasant. Food was really good and the drinks were cold. I didn’t try any of the deserts or the shakes, but I’ll get around to it next time for sure! I’ve never had a Chicago Style Hot Dog so I had to try one out. I liked it and would order it again, but I might try one of the beef sandwiches first. The salads were really good, albeit a bit on the pricey side IMO, but portion was too large to finish so it works out as two meals for me! Bathrooms were spotless too. I would not hesitate to come again in the future when I have a hankering for a Chicago Dog!

Had 3 deliveries. The first 2 were great. I lived in Chicago most of my life before moving here. Was thrilled the first couple of times I got these because they tasted just like back home. The hot dogs popped when I bit into it. Third time was such a disappointment! The hot dogs were not the same. Maybe a cheaper brand and they had no flavor like they were floating in water for a very long time. Soft and not crisp. Even the hamburger tasted old. Maybe leftovers from the day. This is a treat for me to order once a month so probably won't be ordering again for a long time. Very expensive for the obviously different cheap hot dogs that tasted like they were from the grocery store. Maybe they were.

Definately the best burger I've had in a very long time. I've been there a few times, and each time, everything from the bread, fries, fixins, etc. has been fresh and flavorful. The burger is cooked just right and the flavor is amazing. It may take a few minutes longer when using drive-thru, but it is very much worth it. For the same, if not less, cost that you would pay at other fast food joints, this is the best place for a burger, hands down. Location is new construction at 249 & 99. Both dine-in and drive-thru.

I had a very disappointing experience at Portillo’s in Tomball. Last Friday, I stopped by and asked if I could purchase 2–3 quarts of their chili. I was told yes and to come back today. When I returned and went through the drive-through, the young lady outside had a great attitude and excellent customer service she was very professional and helpful. However, after she called it in, I was told I would have to purchase the chili individually. I agreed and asked for 25 individual orders. At that point, the manager, Brian, came back and said he could not sell me any chili at all despite me confirming the week before that I could. This was extremely frustrating. It’s not about being told no it’s about consistency and customer service. As a manager, a better solution or explanation should have been offered instead of simply looking away and saying no. That’s not how you treat paying customers. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression. Please don’t waste your time coming here.

My husband and I decided to try portillo’s and we went through the drive through. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with a large fry. My husband ordered the italian beef sandwich meal with a dr pepper. The person who took the order clearly did not want to be there and it showed. The whole thing took about 30 minutes when there was one other person in front of us, which isn’t that big of a deal because they could’ve been busy inside. However, when we finally got our meal, they forgot my husband’s drink and fries. Again, not a big deal. We got the person who gave us our order attention and let her know. She looked at us like we were crazy and there was back and forth trying to get her to believe us? She gave us this skeptical look and went back inside and a few minutes later brought out his drink and told us a few more minutes for the fries. At this point, i’m getting frustrated. We paid almost $30 but also, why would we lie?? When she brings out the rest of our food we’ve already decided we will not be coming back. Once we get home my husband opens his sandwich and the pictures speak for themselves. Two thick cuts of sweet peppers smushed on the sandwich and just dry meat and wet bread. There were no onions, no gravy, no cheese. Just meat and bread. I get working at a fast food restaurant might not be the greatest work environment of all time, but there’s a certain level of service that is expected of the workers and this place did not deliver. And to top it all off the food was insanely disappointing. Save yourself the trouble and go to Gringos or Bojangles down the street.
