We have been going to Pappadeaux seafood for years. But to our surprise this time, The gumbo was watered down, no okra, or tomato, or bell peppers! Fish was tasteless until I added salt, peppers, lemon and some of the salad dressing to it! Bread was microwave heated instead of oven heated and was still wet from the water that was splashed on it prior to heating! It had become chewy and tasted stale. Salad was not as crisp as Greek salad should be. In short the food was not worth a fraction of what we paid for.
I recommend that PAPPAS stop giving franchises to people who can not provide the quality and taste that PAPPAS restaurants are famous for.
We were disappointed I we will not go back to this location for food again, but will continue going to the one in Houston and Austin locations.
This review is for Stafford location only.

I have to say, I am beyond disappointed after having eaten at Pappas restaurants for over 40 years. I ordered a Seafood Cobb Salad and Half Quart of Gumbo for delivery. Let's start with the Cobb Salad - it had about 5 pieces of crabmeat and there 8 shrimp cut in half. When I called the restaurant to complain, the manager - I have his name - told me they put 5 ounces of meat so it may not look like much but it has been weighed. WHAT! Not an acceptable answer when you are paying $35 for a salad. Also, here was a half an avocado and maybe 1/4 cup of bacon *not sure if that is counted with the 5 ounces of meat) with a few grape tomatoes and mostly lettuce. You also now have to pay for a loaf of bread...with a $35 salad??? Now let's move on to the dismal shrimp gumbo. First of all - they are using 31-40 count uncleaned shrimp. I wouldn't be so upset with the watery base but given that it has large chunks of onion, celery and bell pepper, it has basically become inedible. It is supposed to be "CHOPPED" as in a mirepoix - not huge hunks so you can take less time on the prep and get more out the door. Anyway, take it for what you will. This meal was not, and is not, worth the money and effort in this day and age. I had noticed the quality and quantity shrinking as their pricing has gone up. Not enough value for money hard-earned money!

Me and sister, niece and nephew went out after morning worship service and enjoyed our outing at Pappadeaux. The food was wonderful. For appetizer we had the bread loaf which was hot and the fried alligator with the spicey honey sauce. Then for main course we had 2 fried catfish an 1 blackened with a baked potatoes and a Ceasar salad. To drink we either had tea, soda or water. It was wonderful to have a great meal and my nephew wanted creme brulee for dessert.

First and Foremost, I love when we're able to visit any Pappas franchise and are able to enjoy a nice meal.
Yesterday was quite a different experience.
We were married this May and had a few gift cards to use. We picked our "Pappas" gift card and wanted some great seafood for our Sunday dinner.
We were seated pretty fast and greeted wonderfully.
Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable.
He asked for our drink order and my husband wanted an IPA ( I ordered a sweet tea). The waiter came back and told us there wasn't any more IPA available so my husband opted for a "Old Fashioned ".
That was good!
Then the food order.
Since we didn't want to get super full, we ordered the "Pappadeux platter " to share and added two extra sides. ( Dirty Rice and the whipped potatoes) The complimentary bread arrives and it was hard and not warm but we ate a slice. It was a bit too hard so I asked to get it switched out. The waiter complied and the new bread came, it wasn't great but it was better (still hard).
The food arrives about 15 minutes later.
The sides came first and the rice was great but the whipped potatoes were below warm. I asked to swap that out, he came back and it was still similar in temp! Platter came and we were hopeful that we were going to hot and fresh fried food but we were disappointed. The fish was warm at best, the shrimp and other items were ok in temperature but not "hot". The only thing that seemed cooked to order was the stuffed crab. That was delicious!! Most of the fries were very cold with some hot. ( like they were mixed together) I didn't want to keep asking to switch out food, so we just ate what we could and packed the rest to go. This was an experience we never had at any Pappadeaux location including this one. It was a bit disheartening to use one of our wedding gifts and we really didn't enjoy the experience.
The Stafford location is the closest to our home and never gave us any issues before this.
