Love this store. So many choices of fresh produce, the meats and seafood was good looking without a foul odor. The staff was friendly. Can get busy but it’s with it.

HEB and their brands have raised their prices while the quality has gone done. More expensive than other organic stores and the quality is not good. Not worth it

I want to start by saying that Central Market Southlake is an excellent store. The environment, the product quality, and the overall experience are usually outstanding. This is not a complaint about the market as a whole.
What felt wrong was the interaction.
Omar, who identified himself as the general manager, approached us and asked that our therapy dog be removed from the cart, explaining that the cart would need to be cleaned and disinfected. We complied immediately and without issue. After that, we waited over an hour, and no one ever came to clean or disinfect the cart.
If the concern was truly sanitation, then the follow through should have happened. When it did not, the situation stopped feeling like a hygiene issue and started feeling inconsistent and uncomfortable.
It also would have helped if the conversation had begun with a clear introduction and a brief explanation of the policy being enforced. Transparency and communication matter, especially when addressing customers directly.
For clarity, singling someone out because they have a therapy or service animal, and then failing to apply the stated policy consistently, can fall under disparate treatment within disability discrimination standards. I am not claiming intent, but consistency and follow through are what prevent situations like this from feeling personal or unfair.
Again, this is not about special treatment. It is about equal treatment, professionalism, and keeping your word once a concern is raised.
Central Market does many things right. This interaction simply felt off, and I hope future situations are handled with clearer communication and proper follow through.

Great store & their holiday boxes make Thanksgiving & Christmas meals easy. They're well organized and got me checked in, my box items verified & back on the road in about 5 minutes. I even got a coupon for $10 off my next Central Market visit. Thanks again.

Central Market provides a good selection of goods and products you might not find at other places. It's a bit easier finding healthy options from other countries that you can't get from products made in the U.S. For example, pastas and flour from Italy. They are a bit pricey compared to other grocers, but the trade off in quality is worth it.
