Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Customers reported inconsistent service, with some experiencing long wait times and rude interactions, while others praised the friendly and helpful staff.

My wife and I just got back from the WORST experience we have EVER had at a Whataburger. This Whataburger is located in South Padre Island, Texas. The source of this dispicable behavior, was the manager, Jocqueline (? ). Immediately after getting our meal, we began to hear her BARKING out orders to other employees, who were mostly KIDS. I say BARKING because her tone was loud and very demeaning. We tried to ignore
her abusive behavior, but it became INTOLERABLE. I got up and asked her to "please " lower her voice so that we could eat our meal in peace. She responded in an callous and indifferant tone,
" we have to communicate " !. I told her that we ( customers ) did not have to listen to her RANT. I went back to my table and she continued with her Abusive behavior. I feel so sorry for those kids that have to be subjected to this type of torment. We could see the dispair in the eyes of some of those KIDS. How do these type of people become supervisors ?. Politics ? Close personal relationships with management ? Who knows ! Its just sad for the kids that have to endure this type of ABUSE!!!

Came here at 6 a.m. to get some breakfast taquitos. Win this one employee probably on a break who was on his phone, three others who were on duty just standing around talking, one person working. Had a mobile order and it was literally 15 minutes longer than the high side of the estimate given on the app. Had friends who were waiting on me at the boat dock send me a text to ask where I was when I'm at a Whataburger watching everybody talking and not working. Chorizo burrito was disgusting and threw half of it away. The other two I ordered were OK but very miniscule.... You can tell that draining the grease is an optional thing here in the kitchen before making taquitos. Think twice about stopping at this place if you have somewhere to be at a certain time...if you're on Island time and don't care, then maybe.
