Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

I ordered a chicken strip combo and a classic Whataburger, and I had asked for onion rings with my combo, but there was a small mix-up at the register and it was entered as fries instead. When the manager (I believe her name was Shelley) brought out the food, she had two orders of fries. I let her know I had actually ordered onion rings, and she immediately handled it with such a friendly, upbeat attitude. She was genuinely kind, smiled the whole time, and made me feel like it was no problem at all—no awkwardness or frustration, just great energy. She told me I could keep the fries and said she’d bring out fresh onion rings. She came back super quickly (within about a minute or two) with hot, fresh onion rings just like she promised. It’s rare to come across someone who is not only efficient but also that warm and personable. You can tell she cares about customers and takes pride in her job. That kind of service really stands out. Great experience overall!
