Usually I don't have an issue shopping here, as it is convenient whenever I need a quick pick-me-up so I don't have to drive into Denton or Gainesville. However, yesterday was the first time since the store opened where I have had an issue.
I was picking up a few items for someone else, as they were sick and couldn't shop themselves. I was looking for a particular type of laxative that I didn't see on the shelf in the section where it was supposed to be. After having no luck trying to look it up to see if they actually carried it at that particular store, I stopped the first associate I saw, which happened to be a girl who worked in the online pickup department. She started off helpful, but she then blew me off when she got an incoming phone call from her store manager on her personal phone. She said something along the lines of, "Excuse me, I have to take this. It's my store director." Then walked off. She didn't bother asking me if I needed anything else or if I was finished asking any questions, or to have a nice day.
I'm sorry, but no associate should be answering their phone, no matter who it is, when they are in the middle of helping a customer. It's rude and unprofessional. She could have waited until I was done and called back at a more convenient time. It just makes the store look bad if they think answering phone calls are more important than helping customers.

I've never had a bad experience and the customer service has been top notch until today. I went through the check out line and the checker told me he would be right back to try to catch a customer that left a bag behind. Well Michael sacked the person in front of me groceries, but when the checker came back he didn't sack my groceries and I had a belt full of groceries. I sacked the majority of my own groceries while Michael moved around making himself look busy instead of sacking my groceries. Confused on why he sacked the person in front of me , but not my groceries. Hopefully this situation will not occur to anyone else.

To begin this is my 3rd visit the last two weeks and the apple gate pepperoni in the deli is out of date, all 6 packages. Whoever is checking dates is not doing it. Second when I checked out the change machine owed me .96 cents and it didnt spit it out. Not a big issue to me, but I just asked the employee bagging who was a supervisor if the change machine was working and he asked the cashier who said it did spit it out. Not worried about the. 96 cents but rather the false immediate accusation that I was lying from the cashier but most importantly why is the machine not working correctly and for how long has it been that way? X's several hundred customers a day and that could add up. Not a good look Tom Thumb, teach your employees to not give the farm away but to reserve judgment after their due diligence has been done.

KROGER WOULD HAVE MADE IT RIGHT
For a very hard-working single mother price matters
I have consistently come into the store and then both surprised in a good way and a bad way almost every single time I come. Produce great. Meet selection great. Unfortunately the customer service that I have experience has not been so great by the staff in person. Online pick up orders are wonderful and very accommodating to any price adjustments due to out of stock items. In person that is not the case. They are consistently out of the buy two get two plates and bowls. If I order online they have offered to accommodate a substitution for the same price. When I went into the store and it was out for the third time I thought why not just ask the cashier. She said no but she could get a manager. The cashier was very nice. The manager came over and explained to me that it is company policy that they cannot substitute they are completely out of stock and that's what her people told her to say. The last time I came shopping here they had vegetables pre-packaged that were clearly marked by 2 get 2 free. When I went up to the self-checkout and hit pay now button and got ready to pay I noticed that the two free ones did not come off. When I asked the attendant she told me that she cannot change it and if that's how it rang up that's how it rang up. I even showed her a picture of the price tags of the items that I got and she still refused.
All I'm going to say is KROGER WOULD HAVE MADE IT RIGHT and for that reason I'll just go shopping at Kroger in Denton. Not that matters to anyone here at Tom Thumb
