Being completely ignored like that is frustrating and unacceptable. I ended up leaving without ordering. Definitely not the level of service I expect.

Not only is this poor customer service, but this is poor business management. The standard should be to inform the customer of the accurate times of placing orders to prevent these events from happening - when instead their money is taken just for them to be told to request a refund within the app. I am not only frustrated but disappointed in the lack of customer service that McDonalds has to offer, and it makes me question if I will go back again.
