Love this HEB, this is where I prefer to get my produce, they have the best selection, and I've never gotten anything bad or out of date.
I also get my groceries here as much as I can, they usually have a better product, and better priced.

Went to HEB on Valley High. I purchased 3 Loreal products because, their was a 25% off coupon. I presented the coupon assuming that the 25% would be taken off of all the products. When I looked at my receipt it only took 25% off of one. I asked a mngr about it. He said the cashiers should know to scan the coupon for every product purchased. I told him I don't expect the cashiers to notice how many products on the coupon I purchased. I told him their should be a sign letting customer know to grab a 25% of coupon for every product even if they are all the same. He told me to come back another day for a refund or wait 20 min for customer service to open. He was really smug about it. I thought managers were supposed to be nice and, helpful. What a jerk!!!

I purchased a package of ground beef this past Tuesday evening after getting off work. Since I knew I would have time off later in the week, I left the package in my refrigerator. When I went to separate the meat into smaller freezer bags, I noticed that some of the meat had begun to turn brown. Wanting to make sure everything was okay, I called the store.
When I spoke with Vanessa, I explained that I had purchased the meat on Tuesday and that I had been looking for my receipt but had not been able to locate it. As soon as I mentioned that I did not have the receipt, the tone of the conversation changed. She repeatedly told me that without the receipt the product could not be taken back. She also informed me that the package had both a “sell by” and “use by” date. I explained that the package stated “use by 3-11,” but I did not see any additional date on the label. She then stated that the package would have been pulled that evening, which left me somewhat confused.
At that point, it became clear that the conversation was not going to be productive. While she continued explaining store policies, I chose to end the call.
I later called back and selected the option to speak with someone in the market department. I spoke with Marissa, whose approach was completely different. She took the time to listen and explained that some browning in ground beef can occur due to oxygen exposure and does not necessarily mean the meat is spoiled. She reassured me that as long as the packaging had remained intact and the meat had been properly refrigerated, it should still be safe to freeze and use within three to four months.
I truly appreciated the time Marissa took to explain this and to reassure me. Her professionalism and willingness to help made a big difference in my experience.
While I fully understand the importance of keeping receipts and why stores ask for them, the way customers are spoken to matters. As a 61-year-old professional working in healthcare, I value respectful communication, and I believe it should be extended to customers as well.
Kudos to Marissa for her professionalism and customer service. I hope that feedback like this can help reinforce the importance of treating customers with courtesy and respect.

Where does H-E-B source its meat?
H-E-B sources fresh and frozen meats, including Beef, Lamb, Bison, Pork, and Poultry, from meat processors across the USA; however, a large majority of our products are sourced from Texas suppliers/ranchers/farmers. A very small amount of product is sourced from Canada and Mexico, and will be labeled on each package with the correct country of origin.
