Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Many customers reported issues with food quality, including dry patties, cold food, and incorrect orders.
Service Speed
Numerous reviews highlighted slow service times, particularly during busy hours, with some customers waiting excessively for their orders.
Customer Service
While some staff received praise for their friendliness and attentiveness, others were criticized for poor attitudes and lack of care.
Cleanliness
Several customers noted that the restaurant was clean and well-maintained, contributing positively to their experience.

This is the slowest most unorganized whataburger I’ve ever been to. Took 20 minutes to get a biscuit sandwich.

This was one of the most disappointing burger experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the very first bite, it was clear that the patty was extremely dry, to the point where it was difficult to chew. A good burger should be juicy, tender, and flavorful — this was the complete opposite. It felt more like eating cardboard than freshly prepared beef.
What made the experience worse was the temperature of the food. The burger wasn’t hot or fresh; it was barely warm. That immediately gave the impression that the patty had been sitting somewhere for a long time and was only reheated once the order came in. There was no freshness, no sizzle, and none of that satisfying feeling you expect from a freshly made burger.
Honestly, the taste was so bad that it was hard to finish the meal. The texture and flavor were extremely unpleasant, and there was a strange aftertaste that made the whole experience even worse. You can tell a lot about a restaurant by how its food tastes, and in this case, it felt like zero care was put into quality or preparation.
I’ve eaten at many fast-food burger places, and even fast food can deliver consistent quality when done right. Compared to places like In-N-Out Burger, this restaurant is far behind in terms of taste, freshness, and overall standards. Being a fast-food chain is not an excuse to serve food that feels old and poorly prepared.
This was my first visit, and it will definitely be my last. I had high hopes, but the quality was unacceptable. I hope management seriously considers improving their food standards, because right now, it’s not worth the money or the time.

They used to have the best reasonsably priced hamburgers. Unfortunately, the quality has suffered and the prices have increased. We rarely eat out but when we do Whataburger is never an option.
