Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Customer experiences with service are mixed; while some staff members received praise for their friendliness and attentiveness, others were reported as rude or unprofessional.

Wait Times

Cleanliness
Some customers noted cleanliness issues, particularly in relation to restrooms and food preparation areas.
Staff Attitude
While some employees were highlighted for their positive attitudes and customer service, others were criticized for being disinterested or disrespectful.

went when it was late and the line was super backed up and the person at the window was, despite it all, extremely friendly and even remembered to put extra napkins and stuff in my bag

Had gone in the other day just like normal. Sitting with my group we over heard a conversation between a manager (I think her name was like Alex or something with an A) and employee. The conversation was mostly the manager talking down to an employee and basically said something along the lines of “you should be written up but because I came in late I won’t” so basically manager will not do their job if they are late I guess. Was super uncomfortable and is obvious this manager has no idea how to treat employees or how to properly do her job. Sad I love this Whataburger and is my go to but if I see that manger again I’ll just go somewhere else. If she speaks to employees like that in the lobby how will she treat everyone else. Bless the poor girl getting yelled at in front of multiple customers. I’m sorry management failed you.

I come here often and usually have good service. The service was still great but i got a very watery gravy and when i brought it to their attention all they did was offer more of the same watery gravy. I requested a refund and asked if they were out of gravy. She told me they had plenty of gravy but they werent going to make any more. April handled this situation very poorly and ill be going to a different whataburger now. This was all on top of the fact that they had forgotten to give me a gravy to begin with. The only reason i realized it was so watery was because i had to walk back inside to get it. The one star is for the really nice lady that works at the register, otherwise its a 0.

I’m giving this a 1star as much as I love their food I’m constantly getting harassed by this one staff who hates homeless people and despite me buying my meal and not bothering anyone I get called the police on and now I’m banned from the restaurant yeah homeless people can be bad people but I’m working I’m paying for my food the only problem is the housing market is terrible rn and I don’t have a homeless shelter anywhere near the only job I have rn in my opinion this is criminal profiling both by the police and the one manager the rest of the staff are chil with me but when this guy comes in idk what happens I just get police called on me (side note yeah in the morning I’m looking for a defamation lawyer cus I did loose money going here)

I love whataburger. This was the 1st time I've ever been to this location and I asked what I've always asked for which is honey bbq chicken sandwich but I always sub it with honey butter and never had a problem at any other location except this one. I asked to sub it and what they did was make it a regular one and charged me extra for a side of honey butter which wasn't at all what I asked for. I think ill stick with the 1604/chase hill location.
