Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

I’m writing this review because I’ve reached my breaking point with this Whataburger location on FM 78. I have never complained before, but the experience on January 9 was unacceptable.
I sat in the drive-thru line for 30 minutes, only to receive a dry burger and dry fries. After waiting that long, the food should at least be fresh. On top of that, the cashier repeatedly asked “anything else?” after nearly every word I said while ordering. It felt rushed, unprofessional, and made the ordering process frustrating instead of welcoming.
When I called to tell the manager about my order, she kept telling me to bring my food back up there. And I told her I’m not because I don’t won’t nothing else made from this location. I did inform her that I will be contacting corporate. Now that complaining, on a previous visit I ordered a breakfast on a bun and found a large eggshell in my food while I was eating it. When I brought it back inside, the staff looked at me as if I had placed the eggshell there myself. There was no accountability, no real concern, and no professionalism shown by management.
As a former fast-food restaurant manager, I know what expired or old food looks and tastes like. A burger doesn’t get that dry by accident, and food quality issues like this should be caught before it reaches the customer. Unfortunately, it seems the managers at this location do not hold employees accountable or prioritize food quality and customer service.
I don’t have any problem from other Whataburger I attend but this location needs serious improvement in food freshness, employee training, and management oversight.

Fries were ice cold
Order was wrong
Asked for Texas toast and to be cut in half and they used a bun instead and cut it in half but it looked like the middle of the burger was missing and only got the edges of the burger and it looked like it was purposely squished down really hard where it was un eatable
Gravy was missing for the strips
Burger was cold and missing ingredients
Order took forever

I will always love Whataburger. The food is a tried and true comfort that has stood the test of time. But the service can vary. They are mostly good, but this location tends to have its not so good days on wait times.
At least the food itself is consistent!

Waited over 30 minutes for a curbside order, was told the food was "still cooking" but when we got it it was soggy, fries were unsalted and had raw ones mixed in, (not to mention my large fry was only half full) and the guy new to us who got there after and had 4 meals (we only had one) got his food well before us. Was late to work for low quality food and to get lied to.
