Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Many customers noted a decline in food quality, with complaints about cold, dry, and incorrectly prepared items.
Service Issues
Numerous reviews highlighted slow service, long wait times, and frequent order mistakes, leading to customer frustration.
Customer Experience
While some customers praised friendly staff and good service, others reported negative experiences with unhelpful employees and poor management.
Consistency
There were mixed feelings about consistency, with some customers enjoying their meals while others felt the quality and service had deteriorated.

I recently came into Whataburger and loved seeing Lilly there. After seeing how well she manages the team and handles everything so smoothly, I felt like I had to leave a review. She truly goes above and beyond for her customers and creates such a welcoming environment. Even when it’s busy, she stays calm, kind, and professional. You can tell she’s a hardworking woman who genuinely cares about both her staff and her customers. Managers like Lilly make all the difference - thank you for always providing such great service!

I have to give kudos to this location for great service and tasty meals. I have ordered breakfast boxes and burger boxes for my pharmacy crews and Lilly and staff have been great to coordinate my pickups and accommodate my request for a breakfast box. Thank you for your customer service.

I would have given 1 star if not for manager Madison who handled my complaint with grace, she was nice.
Look,
I know it gets busy but 10+ minutes for a taquito??? when I’m the only person in the lobby??? is a little crazy to me….And I know it’s 10+ minutes because I got there a little before 7:20 and by the time I left, which was close to 730 they still hadn’t even started on on my food.
And then when I know I’m gonna be late for work and I try to leave
I try to get the attention of the manager or team lead in blue and she looks at me and ignores me….. 🙃
Yeah, I walked out.
I called back later to send this complaint in and to see what could be done,
Options were a refund or having the order remade.
I went with the order refund because this issue has happened before where it took more than 15 minutes during lunchtime for me to get my burger meal.
I let it slide the first time cause I figured you know every now and then it could happen but it happening again, but with me at breakfast and being the only one in the lobby???? 😕
No thanks. I’ll just not go to this location. Posting this so others are aware and also because I’m still upset.
Maybe more staff is needed in the mornings to make orders go faster, idk.

We came by at whataburger waited 15 minutes at the menu board . When we pulled foward to the window Juan had a headset we kept on looking threw a small little window from the menu board , I could see him laughing and looking towards us instead of taking out Order .also with the manager her name is lily ,she tried to find an excuse to give us when she was also just talking and laughing with him . They also had an attitude when explaining what I saw when I wasn’t getting attended . YALL should hire people that actually want to work not just giggle and talk during there shift.

I honestly can’t believe how disappointing this experience was. I waited over 15 minutes in the drive-thru with only ONE car in front of me — for a single breakfast taquito. After that ridiculous wait, you’d expect something fresh, hot, and worth it… but no. I was handed a cold tortilla taquito that tasted like it had been sitting there forever.
Slow service is one thing, but slow service AND cold food is unacceptable. It completely defeats the purpose of fast food. There was zero attention to quality and no sense of urgency.
If you’re thinking about stopping here for a quick breakfast, don’t. Save your time, your money, and your frustration. There are plenty of places that actually serve hot food without making you sit in line wondering what’s going on.
