  Just picked up a very large order for our Holiday office party. The folks at True Texas packaged our order perfectly and made sure everything was accounted for. The food was just incredible. Thank y'all!

  Not Impressed. Brisket was flavorless. They were out of 3 things we had planned to order (lean brisket, Sausage and macaroni). Coleslaw slaw was old, potato salad was ok, and cream corn waa pretty good. You have to go inside and order or download an app just to place an order. Won't be back... definitely not Impressed.

  Craft BBQ fan and smoking aficionado here. Tried True Texas BBQ for my first time today. The experience was beyond my expectations for “grocery store BBQ.” I honestly anticipated Bill Miller or Rudy’s level BBQ which are more fast food style choice/select grade beef vs low and slow craft style premium ingredients. What I got was craft level BBQ, prime grade beef, and low and slow. Bottom line, the lean brisket passed the bend test and had full moisture and the right level of smoke. We tried the 3 meat plate (lean brisket, turkey, sausage) and beef rib plate (only available on Fridays). Pre-ordered our food through the app (you get a discount plus guarantee the items you want before they open at 11am and potentially sell out of your favorite meat). You can also sign up for their text club which has coupons. Everything was smoked to perfection, moist, and fresh. The beef rib and brisket were the stars for me. The Serrano cornbread and collard greens were the standout sides. The mac & cheese and potato salad weren’t notable but reliable. The turkey was moist but the seasoning was too sweet for me. There was also a similar slight sweetness to the beef rib. I do understand they are catering to the masses and most locals love sweet profiles. Not my personal preference. The service was TOP notch with many staff members coming over to check on us. I had dinner at Capital Grille last night and commented that the service at this HEB BBQ spot was significantly better than what I got there. The managers here are clearly very passionate about their craft and proud of their product….which they should be. The store and restaurant are beautiful and clean, the staff seem happy, the food is excellent, value is dialed in, and the service is great. I see a lot of people complaining about the cost and I feel like those are the folks accustomed to fast food bbq. This ain’t that. I think True Texas is competitively priced for the product they put out. Try getting a 1.5-2lb beef rib for less than $60-80 at most craft spots…here it is $39. Go Team True Texas BBQ!
