This was such a fun restaurant. If you are wanting to go for a nice walk too it's quite litterally on the beautiful river walk. This restaurant was three stories tall and had plenty of animals. It's the only location with pandas. It has tons of gorilla, a tiger, a large snake, live fish, a soft shell turtle, and even a waterfall that flows through several floors. It is on the pricier side and our waiter was not very attentive. The food was good and the overall experience was enjoyable!

Server brought my coffee but didn't provide a spoon to stir in sugar. I then asked the Server that brought the appetizer, said he would bring one, nothing. I had to get up to ask the seating hostess who went to get one and then left me.standing there to seat another party. Asked our Server who says another person would get me one. Again,.no.spoon. I asked for a.manager who finally provided a spoon. Food arrives and yes. No silverware. I got up again asked seating hostess for silverware who offered to take it to my table. Declined and told her I can do that.. eating and of course, a couple of crawlies decided to walk across the wall. Yes. ROACHES...YUCK!!! Manager came over and we showed him the pics but by that time I was so disgusted and put out by the poor service.we wanted to leave a fast as we could. He did cover the bill which was nice but couldn't get over the horrible experience..Will never return

Jan 1, 2026 reservation for 1:30 pm. We had a very disappointing experience at Rainforest Cafe San Antonio. I made a reservation in advance for a large group of 22 people. While the reservation system only allowed “8+,” I clearly added a note stating we would have 22 guests. I also received an email confirmation showing the reservation details, so we believed this was acknowledged.
When we arrived, we waited at least 30 min. We were initially sent upstairs, only to then be told they only had a table for 8 people. The manager we spoke with was rude from the beginning and made no effort to accommodate us or take responsibility for the reservation, despite the confirmation email.
We ultimately had to leave without eating. This was especially disappointing because we traveled specifically to eat here and were really looking forward to the experience. Poor communication and unprofessional handling completely ruined what should have been a fun outing.
If your group is larger than 8, be very cautious — reservations are clearly not honored as expected.
