i ordered a steak bowl and got 2 pieces of steak even the server who brought it to me said it was short. then they took my bowl and said they’d charge me $5 more for more steak. nah it’s gotta be the worst margaritaville to go to. don’t come here. and the bartender barely attended to me and i was the only one at the bar.

The food was good but pricey for portion size. Service was absolutely horrible. More than likely won't return to this location

How did this place get a 4.0? Everything is overpriced but that is expected on the Riverwalk. However, the salsa is basically jarred Pace brand, but Pace has a better flavor. The queso is tasteless. Truly, it is tasteless, and lumpy. Gross. The frozen strawberry margarita was way too sweet. The perfect margarita was the most imperfect one my sister has ever experienced. It had little or no tequila, the only flavoring was the salt on the rim and in her opinion very small for the price. The atmoshere was okay since it is on the Riverwalk. The service was okay although I wonder why the server did not ask if we wanted to take the almost full bowls of salsa and queso. I think she knew they were horrible. We were going to order dinner here but decided to move on and ended up eating the pulled pork (Ol' Henry) tacos at the Menger bar which were excellent and reasonably priced.

Huge shoutout to Jane at Margaritaville! She absolutely crushed it super knowledgeable about the drink menu and so sweet. We asked if they had a spicy sauce and she brought us TWO sides without hesitation. Incredible service, super kind energy… we’ll definitely be back because of her!

We stopped by Margaritaville San Antonio one evening while visiting the River Walk, and it turned out to be one of the best dining experiences of our trip. The atmosphere was exactly what you’d hope for — laid-back, fun, and full of great energy, but not overwhelming. We went later in the evening and had no wait at all, which was a nice surprise considering how busy the area usually gets. The staff greeted us right away with smiles and seated us quickly. The whole place has that classic Margaritaville vibe — colorful décor, great music, and a relaxed, tropical feel that instantly puts you in vacation mode. The lighting and riverfront views at night added an extra touch of magic to the experience. You can hear the sound of the water flowing by while live music plays in the background — it’s the perfect combo for winding down after a long day of sightseeing. The food was excellent. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The portions were generous and definitely worth the price. We tried a couple of their signature entrées and appetizers, and everything hit the spot. The flavors were bold but balanced, and you could tell the kitchen puts care into the details. The drinks were equally great — classic Margaritaville cocktails that were mixed perfectly and served quickly. Whether you go for a margarita, a frozen drink, or something non-alcoholic, there’s something for everyone. Our server was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and clearly enjoyed their job. They checked in just the right amount, made great recommendations, and kept everything running smoothly without making us feel rushed. That’s something we really appreciated, especially since it was later in the evening and the staff could have easily been winding down for the night. The atmosphere was upbeat but still comfortable — lots of laughter, good music, and people just enjoying themselves. It’s a great place for couples, families, or groups of friends to relax and have fun. The River Walk location makes it even better — you can walk off dinner with a stroll along the water afterward, which is exactly what we did. Overall, Margaritaville San Antonio was a highlight of our evening. Great service, delicious food, refreshing drinks, and zero wait time — it doesn’t get much better than that. Whether you’re a local or visiting like we were, it’s definitely worth stopping by. The combination of atmosphere, flavor, and fun makes it a perfect spot to kick back and soak in those vacation vibes.
