The Tower / Chart House is one of those awesome places you MUST go to at least once if you live in SA or visit often. We don’t go often, but when we do, it’s always an awesome experience.
Chart House San Antonio is basically dinner in the sky. You’re about 750 feet up, which makes you feel important even if you’re just there because you were hungry and someone had a birthday. The view was stunning. The dining room usually rotates, but today it didn’t and honestly… zero complaints. We still got a gorgeous panoramic backdrop of the Alamo City.
Mallory was the real highlight. AWESOME doesn’t even cover it. She was attentive, friendly, genuinely lovely, and somehow everywhere at once in the best way. Total 10 out of 10 service. She made our son’s 21st birthday feel special from start to finish.
Food was excellent, and I have to shout out the mocktails: we don’t drink, but we still enjoy a proper “libation moment,” and these were legit. Great experience, great service, great views.

I've taken many clients to dinner here for multiple business dinners throughout the years here but it ends now.
I have absolutely no clue how this happened but the table next to us had a roach on it.. yes a roach.. at chart house.. in Tower of the Americas... where i planned on proposing... you just cant make this up and needless to say it was large so i know its been there a while and where there is one... there are more.
Our section of the restaurant was scrambling to crush it as it ran around until wait staff came over and crushed it themselves.
for what its worth: no food comps were made or anything to make things 'whole' for the inconvenience. This is exactly what you don't want to see in a restaurant. I'm sorry guys but I can no longer support this place. its beyond downhill which is a shame because its such a beautiful place.
I've contacted the health department, eat here with caution but i urge you to not eat here at all.

We had an amazing experience at Tower of the Americas - Chart House, and a huge part of that was thanks to Katrina. From the moment she greeted us, she was smiling, welcoming, and genuinely engaged. She took the time to talk about the atmosphere, share her own experience working there, and even told us a story about a wedding proposal that made the evening feel special and personal.
She knew it was our first time and asked thoughtful questions, which really helped make us feel comfortable and taken care of. Our sparkling waters were always filled promptly, and she checked in at just the right times without ever being intrusive. Her warmth and attention to detail elevated the entire experience.
Overall, Katrina did an outstanding job and made our visit memorable. We’re already looking forward to coming back in a year and would absolutely hope to have her again. Highly recommend, truly a five star experience.

Booked a reservation for family on 12/27 hoping to have a nice scenic lunch. Once we were seated we shockingly found out the restaurant was only serving a holiday prefixed menu for $81 per person.
As someone who is from out of town we had no idea this was happening the day I booked the reservation which was months in advance.
There were no dates online to show they would only be doing a holiday menu at a set price.
We ended up only having appetizers and then left. Thankfully our waiter was kind about this.
Also, the tower was not moving due construction; which I feel should have been announced on their website. Not everyone from out of town is going to know that tower has contrition going on.

We had a 4pm reservation and arrived to the restaurant level at 4:05 PM and took another 15 minutes to get seated. We were seated over 15 minutes before waitress came over to check on a drink order. Waitress took another 20 minutes before coming back for food order, still no drinks had arrived. We were made aware that first wine selection was unavailable, selected another choice, still took another 20 minutes before all drinks and wine had arrived. One drink had to be sent back as it appeared to taste like juice with no alcohol. We requested the drink to be remade and 2nd was marginally better. Finally after about 15 more minutes we asked for some bread as none was offered and they had already brought out one appetizer and one starter for two of five in our party. The remaining starters were brought out about 15 minutes later and our entrees followed about 10 minutes later. The food was about what you would expect, nothing above average. They are selling the experience and view and with the construction that was not ideal as the restaurant was not rotating. The service was some of the worst I have experienced, as the retaraunt appeared understaffed and very slow. Will definitely never go back as the overall experience was very poor.
