We were a party of 4 for lunch before going to the UTSA game at the Alamodome. I had the "Lunch Box" and chose the cup of clam chowder and the Whaler Fish Sandwich. The clam chowder was watery, taste was just OK. The breaded white fish wasn't good at all, very bland and did not taste freshly made. Others ordered the grilled chicken caesar salad which they said was good. The wine and pomegranate mojito were tasty. Food service was great and the atmosphere was good. Not terribly busy, but was hectic enough using the elevator as only 1 was available. Probably be a while before we try this Chart House again.

Bless their hearts. Party of four… appetizers/drinks… order main course. One medium filet butterflied… omg. It was dead, dead, DEAD!!! No pink whatsoever. Everyone else is eating. Server asks if it’s ok if the filet is not butterflied… ummmm, ok? Brings back another filet, asks me to cut into it. Raw. As in COLD. Everyone else is finished. Skip the entree, order dessert. (Had to order lava cake w/entree because “they’re freshly made and take 35 minutes.” No. I’m calling BS! Cake mix FOR SURE). After entrees, order crème brûlée. Server comes back, “I’m so sorry. We’re out of crème brûlée.” We’re still pleasant; not her fault. Hubby says “key “lime pie will be fine.” Check comes. Two filets are subtracted, BUT 1st one is marked “kitchen error” and 2nd is marked “did not like.” 4 Cocktails, two appetizers, 3 entrees, 2 desserts: total bill appx $270. Manager NEVER SHOWED THEIR FACE. 😳😳😳 The view is lovely. The cocktails are meh. The apps were fine. The server was personable, and she did her best to cover for the kitchen and her cowardly manager. The best part of the meal was the company and the view, which is likely incomparable. Just don’t go expecting a fine dining experience.

This place is awful. Don’t spend your $ there if you respect yourself and whoever you are bringing with you. Wow - it was one of the worst experiences I have had in my entire life. It’s truly embarrassing. The service but most importantly the food was disgusting. The sea bass with risotto which wasn’t really a risotto, was not fresh, extremely fishy, oily and poorly cooked. Our entire party of 10 could smell it. There wasn’t a single person who enjoyed their meal. The only edible thing was the bread that we had to ask for. The service is so slow, you can easily wait an hour for one dish. The steaks were ok but not up to TX standards. The tasting trio desert was a chemical experiment. It’s embarrassing to cook what they cook in this landmark. The views are great.

I really wanted to like the Chart House, but it was a major letdown. I ordered the 14 oz lobster, and after a long wait, was told they didn’t have it. Instead of asking what I wanted, they just sent out two smaller tails — both overcooked, rubbery, and barely edible. My husband's steak was just as bad — tough, dry, and completely flavorless. The service was slow, and when I tried to bring it up, the manager, Justin, was passive-aggressive and no help at all. No apology, no offer to fix anything — just attitude. For a place that charges this much, you’d think they’d at least clean the windows. They were covered in smudges and fingerprints, like kids had been playing on them. The view is gorgeous, but that’s about it. Don’t waste your money here — just enjoy the scenery and eat somewhere else.
