This new store director don’t care about small town love as Tammy did! Please bring her back! I had a small issue my card was compromised and i needed cash! So, I ran into the store to grab some cash and was denied! I wrote a check from my business account for $150.00 just enough to get me till my card came! I was denied without cause! If Sheila had been there she would have taken care me ! All she did was apologize like I’m not known by everyone in the store and a doctor in this small town! Lady behind me say, “you got to be white or latino to get help!” Smh and she was WHITE!
rude and nasty customer service. hanging up after asking a question is unprofessional. i use to only shop here but not anymore after getting the terrible customer service i got. imagine saying your focus is on great customer service but getting upset and hanging up when someone is upset asking for a refund.

I’ve been a frequent customer at this Tom Thumb for quite some time, and they have consistently earned my loyalty through their exceptional service and product quality. If you are looking for a reliable neighborhood spot that feels a bit more "boutique" in its fresh departments, this is it.
The Meat Market & Seafood
I purchase all of my beef and seafood here. The quality of the cuts is always top-tier, and the freshness of the seafood is evident the moment you walk up to the counter. Whether I’m grabbing steaks for a weekend grill or fresh fish for a weekday meal, the butchers are knowledgeable, helpful, and always willing to provide specific cuts or advice. It’s hard to find a market you can trust completely, but they’ve nailed it.
The Bakery
The bakery department is a standout. I’ve entrusted them with my family’s birthday cakes year after year, and they never disappoint. The cakes are always fresh, moist, and decorated beautifully. They take the time to get the details right, making the celebration feel a bit more special every time.
Overall Experience
Between the high-quality proteins and the dependable bakery, this Tom Thumb has become an essential stop for my household. The staff is friendly, the store is clean, and the consistency is unmatched in Rowlett. Highly recommended for anyone who values quality and great local service!
Editing to add two additional stars because delivery IS just one part of a business and though not resolved in the most straightforward way, my issue has been fully addressed and items refunded, which is appreciated.
I really love TT in general but after my app updated, it makes me order from this one for delivery, which I have had nothing but trouble with. I'm on day 3 now of missing items supposedly being delivered and my refund not being approved. Don't bother with delivery here.

Yesterday around 2 PM, I had an experience at Tom Thumb that I feel obligated to share.
While checking out, I witnessed an interaction involving the store manager, Chasity Dazley, and an employee named Ashton, who was assisting with bagging groceries.
During this time, the manager appeared to become frustrated while helping bag a customer’s groceries. In that moment of frustration, I observed her hand Ashton a broken paper bag in an aggressive manner, which struck him in the face. What concerned me even more was that she did not pause or look back to check on him afterward.
I briefly spoke with Ashton and noticed that he may have a speech impairment or speech delay, though I was still able to understand him clearly. As I watched him process what had just happened, his discomfort was visible through his body language. As a customer witnessing this, it was deeply unsettling.
One thing I have always respected about Tom Thumb is that the company appears to provide opportunities for people of all abilities. That kind of inclusivity is important and commendable. However, with that opportunity must also come a workplace culture rooted in dignity, patience, and respect.
I understand that everyone has difficult moments and stressful days. We are all human. However, it is never acceptable for frustration to be directed at another person, especially someone who may already face additional challenges.
I am sharing this not out of anger, but out of concern and a sincere hope that situations like this are addressed thoughtfully. Every employee deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued in their workplace, regardless of their role or abilities.
My hope is that this feedback encourages reflection and reinforces the importance of compassion and professionalism in leadership.
