  I’m so looking forward to the ChatGPT response to this one… Walked in at 8:05 after trying to call for two hours to confirm closing time and was denied seating. Their answering service apparently states outdated service hours as we were informed upon arrival. This was supposed to be our honeymoon dinner, but the person who greeted us with an open door didn’t sympathize and blamed the error on the management’s part. No accountability here, which reeks of overall mismanagement. Not even the hotel was answering their phones. Just a busy signal.

  We made a 6pm dinner reservation at Lulu's on a Tuesday during the first week of Round Top. I didn't have super high hopes based on previous reviews and my own sub par experience at the Lulu's location in Houston but our dining experience far exceeded my expectations. Upon arrival we were seat in a chic, cozy dining room off of the bar and our waitress promptly took our drink orders. For dinner our group of four ordered a bunch of items to share - Meatballs, Burrata, Chopped Caesar, Pappardelle, Cacio e Pepe & Chicken Milanese. We enjoyed all of the dishes but the standouts were probably the meatballs and Cacio e Pepe which was perfectly al dente and more than a little bit addictive. For dessert we had the chocolate cake which was a touch dry but tasty. Overall the service was attentive and quick. I was actually surprised at how rapidly our food hit the table after ordering, but it was served fresh and hot. Would absolutely recommend to friends coming to Round Top.

  We dined at Lulus Sunday night during the spring show and had a mediocre experience at best. Upon being seated, the waiter told us that 15+ items were not available on the menu because they “order their food a week in advance.” My daughter tried to order the $45 tenderloin and the waiter told her not to because it wouldn’t be prepared to her liking due to the kitchen being so busy. We weren’t even thrilled with what we ordered but felt like we had no choice but to pick something. The energy was chaotic and many tables around ours had to send their food back or complained about their dining experience. We understand the influx of people during the antique shows, however, if you are allowing that many people to make reservations and are charging these prices, the dining experience should not be this poor.

  The first and foremost reason I am adding a review with 5 stars for service is because of the Awesome bartender, Nathan!! We stopped by this restaurant on the last day of the Round Top Spring show. We were tired and hungry, and seeing how busy Lulu’s was, my party of four decided to sit at the bar. The honest truth, Nathan is the ONLY reason why my party and I were not livid at the fact that our food came out about two hours later!! Nathan was friendly, funny, and entertaining even through how overworked he was! He was the only bartender and as drink tickets kept coming in, it was incredible to see him work so hard and quickly to get them out. Meanwhile, he made sure we were okay as we waited for our food. When our food arrived, we were relieved as it was delicious. But had we not sat at the bar and had Nathan there to keep us laughing, we all agreed we would’ve been very upset and the food would’ve not sat well. Thanks, Nathan for helping make our first time experience at Lulus better than it could’ve been!

  I had breakfast at Lulu’s with 2 of my girlfriends on March 22nd. We were in for the RT spring show. We had the worst waitress I have ever had. She was extremely slow and beyond the rudest person I have ever encountered in a restaurant. Our simple breakfast food took forever and it was cold when we received it. Our waitress never checked on us even once during our breakfast…only to bring our food. We asked for salt, pepper and salsa for our eggs…she returned quite a while later and threw down a bowl of bread, a small amount of butter and about 4 shakes of Tabasco sauce in a small bowl. She said salt and pepper would take a while…that she would have to go find some shakers. We told her never mind because our eggs were already cold. No apology or anything…just rolled her eyes and walked away. We were very polite the whole time. I wish now that I had asked for a manager. Also, I ordered a croissant breakfast sandwich…I received a half of croissant with a small scoop of eggs and some bacon. There was no top to the croissant…so not a sandwich at all. When we asked for the bill, she pulled out a machine, typed in it and held it in the air for me to add a tip and sign. Never got to see the bill…it was just a total…and I tried to pull it closer so I could complete the sale…but she wouldn’t let me. Then just walked away without saying anything after I signed. May seem trivial, but we were very excited to eat here and paid alot of money for cold food and horrible service.
