I had a very disappointing experience. I placed a takeout order and was told it would be ready shortly, but I ended up waiting 30 minutes with no updates or sense of urgency from the staff. The service was slow and unorganized, and no one seemed to care that customers were waiting. This is unacceptable for a simple to-go order. Definitely not the level of service I expected.

We love Outback and go a couple of times a month but our visit today was not it!! We were sat at a table near the back, close to the bar and ALL of the staff were gathering at a table directly beside us and behind us talking about how “crappy there tips have been” or how they were looking for other jobs and complaining about management We had to interrupt their conversation so we could ask for refills or what was needed. They weren’t super busy so to have to constantly interrupt a conversation that shouldn’t have been had near dining customers felt awkward. Our steaks were over cooked and salads had old lettuce. We typically love it here but lately the atmosphere land staff makes us not want to return.

This new Outback has been open for about a year and I finally got the opportunity to go check it out. I stopped on my way home from work to get carryout and parked on the side in the dedicated carryout parking spots… only to find the carryout door locked with a sign to go around front or call the restaurant. This seemed counterintuitive, but I walked all the way around the building and went I. The front door… only to find the hostess stand unattended. After standing there for a minute or two without being greeted, I walked to the bar to place my order. I sat at the bar for about 5 minutes before I was greeted by a bartender who I asked if I could place a carryout order. She told me to hold on and that she would have to get someone. She went and got another server who came to take my order…. But when I tried to order a glass of wine while I waited, the server had to get the bartender. So I paid the server for my order but had to run a separate tab and pay a separate bill to the bartender for my glass of wine…. That was not chilled properly and not good.
I worked for many years in the service industry and often give the benefit of the doubt and don’t like to complain, but this was really subpar by now.
My to go order came up pretty quickly and the server brought it out and assured me it had been doublechecked and since the bag was sealed, I trusted here. I paid the bartender for my $9 glass of wine that I didn’t drink (plus a $2 tip for no service) and took my order home.
I drive home 20 minutes to Georgetown and open the bag and they left a $3.99 side of broccoli out of the order. In other words, the order that the server who I left a $10 tip to for carryout had assured me was doublechecked and complete, was not complete.
Accidents happen, and while this is disappointing, I’m not driving back to Round Rock and back for a side of brocolli and the food that was there was pretty good. Pork Chops had good flavor but were a little tough, but I can chalk that up to getting them to go. The chicken salad my wife had was great and bread and fries were good.
Here is where my experience really went down the drain though. I call the restaurant and speak with a male manager regarding my missing side item. $3.99 is $3.99 and I don’t see why I should pay for an item I did not receive. The manager seemed polite, but almost overly polite to the point of being borderline sarcastic. I provided him with the transaction information and he confirmed the credit card info and stated I would definitely get credited for anything I paid for and did not receive. I thanked him and that was the end of it. But he never credited my account and as a result, I can only interpret is overly sarcastic manner not as polite, but as condescending and completely unprofessional. I was nothing but cordial on the phone and as a guest, I do not deserve to be charged for food that Outback forgets to put in the order. I don’t care if it’s $1.99 or $3.99 or $34.99. It’s the principle that it is my money and I should not pay for something that is not provided, and a business should not charge me for a product or service that they fail to provide.
As a result of the overall experience, this restaurant had horrible customer service from the locked take out entrance, to the empty hostess stand, to the less than fluid to go process, to the inattentive bartender and warm wine, to the condescending manager. I won’t be back.

Last night my family and I made reservations to celebrate a birthday at this crappy establishment. We were excited to try it out as we had not been before but immediately were turned off by the lack of customer service and the restaurant was over all small and crowded. Even though we had a reservation they asked us to wait while they clear a 2nd table for us. After waiting 15 minutes in a crowded waiting area I decided to ask why we were having to wait for a reservation. The man at the hostess stand was not very friendly and proceeded to say although we made reservations we had to arrive prior to that time to be added to the list. I asked my family member who made the reservation if that was informed to her and it was not. I then asked the hostess if we could be seated as soon as possible and he stated “we can sit you guys separately”. In my opinion that clearly was not the best solution. I asked to speak to manager which he stated he was the manager. Not sure if he truly was as he was working the hostess stand the whole time we were there but if he was he definitely needs some better training. Did not get his name because he did not introduce himself but he was a bald man with a terrible attitude.
We ended up taking our business to Saltgrass - it’s right down the street from here and it was the best decision. Immediately welcomed by a great team and we were sat immediately. If you are looking for a nice dinner with friends and family I strongly suggest to go to them.

Walked in the ladies that greeted us were amazing and got us seated immediately which is always nice. Sat down we were looking through the menu and our server came a little while after we were sat down. We already knew what we wanted to drink and our appetizer we had it down. He took our order for our drinks and our appetizer. We didn't know we had to ask for the bread as it has always been given to us when we were greeted by our server. So we thought maybe you all were not offering the bread anymore. Then a lady came with our drinks and another lady came with our water. Then a gentleman came and brought our appetizer to us. He asked us if we wanted anymore bread. I said we were never offered any bread but we would love some bread. 🥰 He kindly went and got us a nice hot fresh loaf of bread and fresh butter which literally made our night. Our server was asking every other table around us if they needed another drink, how is everything but never offered after the second time if we wanted another drink or anything. So I took it upon myself to grab the tablet and order myself another drink. Easy peasy right? We ordered the filet mignon with lobster tail. Which was beyond amazing tast and delicious. The one thing the server did do that I applaud was he recommended we get our filet mignon medium rare! Which was a big plus. Every one else that came to our table had amazing customer service and was very kind and polite and always asked if we needed anything else. BUT OUR SERVER! I wish I remembered his name he is Caucasian we believe he had tattoos on his forarms. We were sitting to the right when u walk in. You make that right and we were the third booth to the left.
