I don’t typically leave reviews—honestly, I try to save that for places that go above and beyond. But after repeated experiences at this McDonald's location, I feel compelled to say something so others know what to expect.
I pulled into the drive-thru and was the only car in line. Normally, I avoid this location entirely if there are cars present because the wait times are consistently long, but seeing it empty gave me some hope. For context, the national average drive-thru time for McDonald’s is roughly 5–6 minutes. That’s part of the brand’s promise—fast, predictable service.
I ordered an Arch Burger combo, paid at the first window, and pulled forward. My drink came out almost immediately, which made me think this might actually be a smooth visit. That feeling didn’t last.
Standing at the drive-thru window were at least seven employees—I counted. Three of them were actively on their phones, texting and talking. At first, I gave the benefit of the doubt. I’ve worked fast food before; I understand that sometimes food is being prepared out of sight.
But then 5 minutes passed. No one moved. Just standing, talking.
10 minutes in, I knocked on the window to check on my order. The employee asked what I needed, I explained I was just checking on the status. She said she’d go check—closed the window—peeked around the corner—and then went right back to talking with coworkers.
At that point, it honestly felt surreal.
By the time I received my food, 18 minutes and 47 seconds had passed. In that time, a full line had wrapped around the building behind me—the exact scenario I usually try to avoid at this location.
Right before handing me the food, I noticed the employee press a button near the window, which makes me question whether drive-thru times are being accurately recorded at all. Because there’s no way ownership is seeing the reality customers are experiencing if this is happening regularly.
There was no apology. No acknowledgment of the delay. Not even a passive “thank you” just hand the food and the window closed.
This location seems to be surviving purely on brand recognition and convenience. The experience reflects a complete breakdown in management and accountability. And to the owner—if you’re reading feedback like this and others like it, the issue isn’t the customers anymore.
At some point, it becomes a leadership problem. And posting links for US just to do more to formally complain seems like an out of your accountability of YOUR store. That’s on your name, not McDonald’s.

Before tonight, we were pretty regular customers at this McDonald’s location on North Goliad—but after this experience, we’re honestly not sure we’ll be back.
Things went off the rails immediately at the second drive-thru window. The employee (a short Hispanic woman) abruptly told us to go inside to get our food and then shut the window on us without any explanation. We were left sitting there confused, wondering what just happened.
We parked and went inside, where the employee at the counter was just as confused as we were. She did her best to help, but it took multiple attempts to piece together our order, as she kept having to go back and forth to the drive-thru staff to figure things out. The whole process was disorganized and frustrating, and by the time we finally got our food, it was cold.
To make matters worse, we’re almost certain we were given Happy Meals that had already been handed out to another car. We actually saw them give the meals to the car ahead of us, only for them to be returned—likely because the kids had already opened them. Somehow, those same meals ended up with us: beat up, opened, and completely unacceptable from a food safety standpoint.
On top of that, the fries and drinks were only about 3/4 full—which just added to the frustration. It honestly makes you wonder if corners are being cut, especially after the recent remodel.
At that point, we threw the Happy Meals away and left. We ended up going to a chicken restaurant down the road just to get a fresh, safe meal for our family. Bummer, because the kids love McDonald’s and this location has always been super convenient for us.
Overall, the customer service and food handling tonight were incredibly disappointing. This wasn’t just a minor inconvenience—it was a chaotic and concerning experience from start to finish.

The morning of 3/7/2026, hubby and I just get our breakfast but this lady-hispanic, petite lady, working in order pick up line-give us the wrong order, rude customer service, and slam the window door as she left. What in the world, McDonald's! Train your employee how to portray a good customer service, we pay for our food, we are not beggars!
