I visited twice near the Christmas holidays, and while the entrées were cooked correctly and had good taste, for the price, there are better options. I ordered the 16-oz Pat's Ribeye once and the 12-oz once. They seek to impress with large cuts, but sacrifice thickness to fill the plate. The free loaves of Shiner Bock Beer Bread are fresh, tasty, and a real attraction. Their salads are crispy with great croutons. I had baked sweet potatoes both times and was impressed. The service both times was attentive, friendly, and personable, without being obtrusive. My experiences found the ambiance a little loud, but they were full both times. Saltgrass has a lot going for it, but it is a steakhouse. The steaks at this price point should be something to rave about, in my opinion, and that starts in the butcher shop.

We felt completely ignored. The only thing that made the experience tolerable was the other person at the bar, who was friendly and attentive. Otherwise, the poor service ruined the visit. Service sucked at the bar.
