I moved to Houston 25 years ago and have been shopping at HEB ever since, always confident in my choice. However, recent experiences have made me question whether my trust in HEB remains well placed. Over the past several months, I have noticed multiple issues: once I purchased spoiled milk, another time I found a broken and spilled hair dye product (which was not visible until the box was opened). More concerning were the incorrect charges on my receipts. On one occasion, I was charged twice for a meat pack, resulting in an extra $15 charge. Most recently, I was charged for organic vegetables when I actually purchased conventional ones—organic prices are roughly three times higher. I usually don’t check my receipts because I’ve trusted HEB for thousands of transactions. But my instincts told me something was off. Yes, it’s possible to get a refund by returning to the store, but who compensates for my time? Besides the customer service, the front manger (not sure if this is how they call the people who are supposed to facilitate the checking out process) and cashiers I encountered during these corrections felt cold and not care. This store really needs to improve cashier training and customer service. They should also consider ways to minimize the time customers spend correcting these mistakes.

Organic Caesar salad kit good until Nov 9th. It was purchased on Nov 8th and this is what I get when I opened the package. Not because it’s 50% off, it means I pay for unbeatable lettuce. This is ridiculous and unacceptable. See photos attached

It was horrible this morning! I got there before the store opened because I had many things to do today, so I drank a coffee in the parking lot before they opened as I saw a few customers go in I proceeded to do the same. After I entered, I was immediately told by the cashier that Ai shouldn't be in the store as it wasn't EXACTLY 6am. I told the cashier that I wasn't the only (customer) one in the store. She was adamant that I shouldn't be in the store. I looked at my cell phone and told her that it was 6am. She insisted it wasn't. So I proceeded to the restroom to relieve myself. After I came out I told her that it was way past 6am. She then had the gall to tell me that, "I went into the restroom to hide." I then proceeded to walk around the store and noticed that a few people had their baskets half full of items. I then made a decision to just buy a couple of sodas then leave. Before I left I asked the guy working there if he was the manager and he said that he was. So I showed him my shopping list (which was quite extensive) and informed him that I would NOT be buying my groceries there because the cashier had a horrible attitude with me. I then proceeded to the self-checkout to buy my sodas and the same cashier didn't even help me use my debit card as I was struggling a bit with it. After I finally got it to work, I passed right by her (a couple of feet) and she wouldn't even look at me much less acknowledge my existence! I thought it was strange that I was the only one that was told not to be in the store but I did notice that all the other customers were Caucasian and I wasn't, perhaps that had something to do with it. Also, as she was telling me that I was there too early, the manager was right there and never said anything to me. I told my family to don't go shopping there anymore. I had a much better experience at the other place I went to.

Never had an issue at this HEB until a cashier “Bryan A” as marked on my receipt charged me for the wrong apples (+$0.40/lb) when my apples have the sticker clearly saying what apples they were. Also bagged all my heavy jars with my fragile produce, and didn’t even double bag. Thanks, it broke. Also missed bagging one of my items. Luckily I caught that mistake before leaving.
