One of best spots for groceries before heading to South Padre Island where things are more expensive. Same typical HEB experience that most Texans love with enough variety to be satisfying.

I stopped here before heading to my hotel to stock up, and save some money! It’s a well managed/ well run business. All the staff is polite, answer all questions. The prices are decent for location and economy. And it has all your beach needs. When I got it, it wasn’t as busy so they had a couple cashiers. Once they saw lines they opened up more cashiers AS THEY SHOULD. A lot of other groceries stores don’t do that anymore. Although it’s common sense I’m glad that cater to their customers.

Disabled marine corps veteran, perfectly presentable, just have a lot of tattoos, went to check out and my card “which is very old” didn’t work on the first try, immediately Carlos (manager?) came over and stood in front of me until the card successfully went through, as soon as it did Carlos and check out associate traded very surprised glances and Carlos left. Do not shop here if you support veterans.

Walked around HEB to shop for groceries and a guy named CARLOS (manager?) followed me and my marine disabled veteran husband profiling us. Gross. My husband is white and felt very profiled he is perfectly presentable just has tattoos and is a minority here. Didn’t know HEB allowed discrimination and profiling.
