We did a grocery purchase at Plano TX store at 6001 Preston Rd on 4/12/2026. We wanted to buy a pork rib tips that was suppose to be $2.49/lb. At check out, my wife noticed that the price was 16.99/lb, the price for Beef Loin T-Bone Steak, with the total price of $48.08, whereas the correct total price should be $6.92.
I give the wrong priced rib to the cashier at the self check-out to request her to do a price check, as we still wanted to buy it. But the cashier, (she hid her name tag so that I could not see her name) just left the rib at the desk without doing a thing, no price check, no phone call to the meat department, no asking help from management.
When I asked her about the price check, she told me that she could not find any ribs that were priced at 2.49/lb.
Frustrated, I had to take the rib myself back to the meat department and talked to the butcher there inquiring about the price. Immediately, the butcher told me that they put the wrong price sticker on the pork ribs and gave me a new correct price sticker.
I finally requested to talk to the service manager Corey, who explained to me that the cashier could not leave her station, which I understand, but leaving the pork rib at the desk without at least making a phone call for the price check to find the right price for the customer who was still waiting to buy the product was, to me, a disservice to the customer. Making the customer to do the extra work by going to the meat department to do the price check himself was not the service that a HEB store should provide.
If we did not catch the wrong price, we could be over charged by $42.00! The cashier at the self-checkout was absolutely not helpful and did not seem to me that she was interested in solving the problem that the customer found, let alone offer service to the customers.

Staff is often quick to offer help without me having to track someone down. That (tracking someone down) happens only at the bakery because the counters for the bakery are twice as tall as me. But at least no one yells at me when I poke my head into the employees only area to get help with the breads and such.
Also, good selection of cheeses and meats to go with them. And if you're a Jew, we rate a couple of shelves all year long for foods during Shabbat and the holidays. But like with Central Market, sometimes the stuff is 'out of season'. Big little confused but got the spirit energy though. (And it is true challah makes good French toast if you want something different for breakfast on Sunday.)

Although this location is farther from my home I have decided to replace my nearest store in Allen with this one because of the excellent customer service.
I visited for the same reason as Allen H-E-B location which made the difference very clear. Rylee at the customer service desk was kind, patient, and professional. She listened carefully and handled my request efficiently with a positive attitude.
Her approach made the entire experience smooth and pleasant. It truly reflects the level of service customers hope to receive. Customer service like this builds trust and loyalty and it is the reason I am willing to go out of my way to return to this location. I sincerely appreciate Rylee’s outstanding support and hope her efforts are recognized.

This grocery chain is a big deal for a reason. They have everything from produce to dessert, all the fixings you’ll need for a beautiful charcuterie board, flowers and plants at unbeatable prices, pre packaged meals, snacks you won’t find elsewhere and kitchen items. The personal care and pharmacy section has a great variety. The selection of nuts and oils is better than most grocery stores. You can find a lot of items at this store to give as gifts - hostess gifts, bouquets and dessert. It’s always a good time at HEB 🙌🏼 The stores are always crowded and so are the parking lots.

Review: H-E-B (Plano - Preston Rd)
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
As a culinary school graduate and a mom of five, grocery shopping is usually a chore I do in bulk "survival mode." This was our first time visiting an H-E-B, and I can officially say my days as a slave to big-box warehouse stores are over!
The Bakery & Fresh Bread (Chef's Kiss! 🥖)
The bakery alone is worth the trip. You can smell the scratch-made artisan breads the second you walk in. We grabbed a loaf of the Jalapeño Cheese Bread and the Rosemary Sourdough—the crust and crumb are exactly what I’d expect from a high-end boulangerie. Don't leave without the Mi Tienda butter tortillas; they are made fresh in-house and were still warm when we grabbed them!
Exclusive Brands You Need
One thing that sets H-E-B apart is their private labels. You aren't just getting generic items; you’re getting quality that rivals (and often beats) name brands:
Swoon / Creamy Creations Ice Cream: Better than the national brands and a huge hit with my kids.
Texas Tough: Their household line is rugged enough for a family of seven.
Meal Simple: As a chef, I’m picky about "ready-made," but these chef-inspired kits are legitimate lifesavers for busy volleyball nights.
The Verdict for Large Families
Yes, it was crowded (it’s Plano!), but the efficiency of the staff and the sheer quality-to-price ratio makes it 100% worth it. I can get professional-grade ingredients for my catering work and bulk snacks for my family all in one stop. We’ll be making the drive from Rowlett regularly!
